Where can I buy a new cmos battery for my Averatec 2370 laptop?

Google it, then go onto the shopping tab after you searched it to search popular online shops. Certain laptop battery's are rare in shops in town as there are so many different types and shapes.

How to change the CMOS battery?

You have the open completely your laptop, to the main board. Then you will see like a watch battery, that is the cmos battery. There isn't any other way to do this.

I have an Averatec 5400 laptop. It will not hold its cmos settings. Everytime it boots up it reverts to January 2003 and I have to reset the settings. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to replace the CMOS battery. This will be under a "Flap" under the laptop. It is a small round thin Cell. 3.6 v similar to a Watch battery. link below to see what I mean. http://www.alllaptops.co.uk/Cmosbatt/Averatec.htm

7100 cmos battery location

Hi!

Ok, what you really want here is a service manual for the 7100. That would show you how to pull apart the case in order to get to the mother board (which is where the cmos battery is located).

After a bit of searching, it's proving hard to find. This link might be the next best thing though:
http://fatpenguinblog.com/scott-rippee/averatec-6200-laptop-deconstruction/

It's a deconstruction guide for a 6200. It will be very similar to your 7100. A word of warning to be careful of course - laptops are assembled with a lot of small parts & many small screws..so take your time & make a note of any variations to the 6200 guide so you can reverse the steps when you're done with the battery.

Hope this helps!

Where to find the cmos battery on Averatec 5110

I don't know if there are multiple revisions where the CMOS battery located, but this information is from my 5110H, built in September 2003.
The CMOS battery is underneath the motherboard, between the main battery, memory, and wireless card. The approximate location is shown by the green circle in the picture below:0692552.jpg You might be able to just see it by opening the memory cover and looking sideways into the case.
To actually get to it, I think you will have to take it completely apart and remove the motherboard. I don't think there's enough room to pull it into the memory bay, but I guess you could try that first.

The battery is connected to the motherboard with wires and a connector, rather than being in a holder. It's stuck to the motherboard with thin double-sided tape, but that comes off fairly easily.

The wires run around the right and lower edges of the thin black plastic chip cover shown above, to the white connector at the lower left corner of the cover. No need to peel off the entire black cover- you can lift the edges to get the wire out.
Since my battery is still good, I didn't cut open the shrink wrap around it. So i don't know whether the wires are welded/soldered on or if there's some sort of holder inside.

Suddenly my Averatec won't start

It could be your Power Supply or your CMOS Battery is dead. For Power Supply, you can test by try to connect your Power Cord without battery to see for any PowerPush. If it is still not on then you can check your CMOS Battery for any failure by test the good one from other similar laptop since you had two. I hope this help.

Where is the cmos battery on the Averatec 3200

I can't find step by step instructions for dismantling your laptop (I found them for a Toshiba), but in general the CMOS battery on any PC is on the motherboard (this includes laptop motherboards). You'll have to take the system apart, including taking the keyboard out, etc. etc. to get to it. Take a look at how a Toshiba 6100 is taken apart for an example: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba6100/Toshiba_Satellite_Pro6100_dismantle_1.htm It's not for the faint of heart so I'd recommend taking it to a local repair shop ...
