First try to format it using a card reader if its done it will work if the same error appears again then the memory card is damaged it wont work. You will have to buy another one. The maximum size of the memory card you can use is 1GB you cant go beyond that.

Hi, Please remove and re insert your SD card. Make sure it fit perfectly ob card slot. Then check the memory status on your phone. If still unreadable please use another good card to test on your phone to know the root cause. Still unreadable? The problem is on your phone Sometimes the interface between card and board get problem due to factory defect or misuse of card. My Motorola L7 cannot read the memory card. can't format either

You can try formatting on a PC, and try and use it then. Format it FAT32. and it just may work. If NOT it maybe faulty, your phone, may not "Like" that brand of MC,. try another. or the camera itself is faulty.

Memory Card-Motorola L7

Well that phone holds up to a 1gb memory card but I would suggest getting a 512mb cause if you full the 1gb it will freeze your phone and it would of no use to you anymore.
