Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

Everytime i hook my gogear to a computer or any other source it says do not disconnect and freezes. i have tried the tip that said hold the volume button up and the computer says not compatible with windows. if there is any help out there please. because i really want more songs on my mp3 player

If you are using a computer that is Running Windows Vista, you need to get the latest version of the Philips Device Manager from Philips website, and upgrade the firmware to make it compatible.

Stuck on start screen


Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

Then get the firmware upgrade

Cant turn my gogear on it Freeze´s


WARNING: this process will erase all songs off the GoGear.
Disconnect the GoGear from computer.
Turn the GoGear off.
Hold in the volume + button.
Reconnect the GoGear while holding in the volume + button.
Continue holding the volume + button.
After 5-50 seconds, Windows will pop-up a "Found New Hardware Wizard." - complete the wizard (BTW, you can take your hand ff the volume + button now).

First, try resetting the GoGear by pressing the Power on/off and Volume + buttons simulataneously and holding them (preferably do this when the player is on; the reset is successful when the player shuts off).

If that fails, Back up all the files on the GoGear and perform a Repair:

1) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website
2) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
3) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off (if you haven't done so already) - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new.

In the future, even though it's a pain, use Windows' "Safley Remove Hardware" feature to safely remove the GoGear from the computer before disconnecting.

Also, see the warning on Philips website about Windows Media Player 11 and this device.

I need Help


I would recommend you to get the firmware upgrade on the device..that usually happens when your device firmware is corrupted...If after you done a firmware upgrade your device doenst work properly contact the manufacturer...

Can not download music


Try repairing the device before performing the firmware upgrade:
