This part won't work for our dehumidifier because the bar that supports the float in the tank is about one quarter the size of the support bar use in our tank. Our tank is a 45 pint tank and the this is for a 30 pint tank.

I thought the styrofoam inside the dehumidifier float was packing material & threw it away. Now my dehumidifier gets too full before the "full" sensor comes on. Can I replace the styrofoam?

Hi Kim - I understand that you removed the styrofoam inside the dehumidifier float thinking it was packing material, however I would recommend contacting the manufacturer to verify if it the part is available and can be replaced.

The float is broken

If all you need is the Styrofoam float, you're in business, If it's the entire float arm you're not so lucky.

My floater fell off the dehumidifier. Can I connect it back on?

If you are referring to the Styrofoam ball at the end of the float valve, you can if it's not cracked or water logged. Just be careful doing it. Also, make sure the float valve's shaft/arm is not broken off. If it is, you will need to replace the entire float valve assembly.

Hope this helps and thank for choosing FixYa.

Hop this helps you. Please let me know. Thanks.

How do you put floater device back in water tank

It should just snap back into place, inside the small compartment in the top left of the water tank.
When you snap it back into place it should be able to move freely, up and down.

Hope this helps you.

Unit collects water but periodically continues running despite full bucket which is flush in unit, what could be causing this it doesn't happen everytime.

there is a floater switch on the machine over the bucket (and sometimes in it). the floater tells the machine that the bucket is full. if the floater is stuck, the machine will assume that the bucket is not yet full, and will continue to run. check that floater switch with the bucket out. you may need to press in the bucket switch so the machine thinks the bucket is in. then lift the floater and see if it stops running. if not, the switch is bad.

Wont turn on

Check to see if the styrofoam float is in place correctly. Hopefully this fixes your problem. If the little plastic finger is broken on the float, then it will allways read full. At this point you could use the plastic tube that came with the owners manual to hook up a hose and then have it drain to a drain or try to super glue to finger back together. Here is a link to the tube that I was talking about.
