Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Wii disk won't spin

When a disk is inserted into the disk drive all you can hear is clicking sounds, so when you enter into the game an error occurs.
I opened up the wii and from what I could tell everything was working although the disk didn't spin when inserted. Is there anything I can do at home?

Hi, this will have to be repaired by Nintendo unfortunately. there is a relay switch that initiates the spinning of the disc when it is inserted all the way. this switch also has a sensor telling it to initiate the play/run option. all of this is automated and if either one of these important devices are malfunctioning, it will cause the Action's you are witnessing.

I Had the same thing happen! It has to do with the retention clip. Here you go:

After you fix it, don't leave game disks overnight or in for extended periods of time as that pulls the clip down.

Clicking sound after spinning disk - error

The problem is the installation. A slight variation of the read head angle is all it takes to misalign the laser beam. If the angle is not precise, the light emission will not tract correctly, thus you get a read error. It is like phonograph needle sitting in a groove and making direct contact with the data sectors.

My disks are not playing. It states. An error has occurred. Press the eject button and remove the disc, then turn the wii off and refer to the operations manual. I have tried everything

i am having this same problem.... found this bit of info, hope it helps.

The most common reason for the Wii not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:

store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your Wii including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your Wii going again!

Sounds like the drive or the laser has been dis lodged and needs to be repaired. Simple if you have basic electronics repair experience. Shouldn't cost too much to be repaired at a service centre, unless parts need replacing.

Hope this has been helpful.
