Question about LG Shine KE970 Cellular Phone
PUK means "personal unlocking key" .
The PUK code is asked if you enter a wrong pin 3 times.
You need to call your phone service company, they can retrieve the puk code from a database for free.
In your case you need to contact your SIM card phone provider technical support to unlock the SIM.
The PIN and PUK are related to the SIM card, not to the phone.
If you replace the SIM card with a different one, then the phone should not ask for the PUK anymore.

All to note !!!
PUK code is related to your service provider. Don't confuse that there is some problem with your phone. If you provide wrong PIN code(which is also related with SIM card and service provider) a few number of times, your SIM gets locked and which can be unlocked by PUK code which you can easily get by calling your service provider's customer care (usually tollfree).

if you want to format the memory card alone it has nothing to do with the security code. connect the memory card to the computer with a memory card reader , when the icon appears , right click on it, click format from the options. a dialog box appears and click start there. if you dont have a memory card reader , then connect the phone via data cable and when the computer asks for the option to use it as a mass storage or phone, click on ,*** storage and you can easily format using the same process i explained above

PUK refers to Personal Unblocking
Key. This is a Code which is offered only by Service Provider. There is NO
charge. Call up the service provider and ask for the same and they would be
glad to offer that.
Note - If you enter 3 incorrect PUK codes, SIM would be permanently damaged.
Hope i helped you

SOURCE: my nokia 5230 is asking
its related to the sim card you have in your mobile...you would have locked the sim that's why it is asking for the password normally it would be given when you purchased the sim..try to call your mobile service provider example-vodafone,airtel and ask for the puk code they'll provide it but not down all the numbers behind your sim card before you call them..
