Question about Acer X193W LCD Monitor

How to adjust intensity of Acer X193W LCD monitor manually

I've just turned on my new X193W monitor. All works fine; however, although by using it's push buttons I can browse through the menu, neither button can change the percentage of intensity or contrast. All my old monitors allow for manual adjustments; this one only allows for a choice of 4 automatic settings. The included brief guide does not give any information.
I'd greatly appreciate ypur help. Thanks,
B. T.

If you go into the screens menu, there will be a button for contrast and brightness.  When you have the one you want selected, press munu again and that will bring up the dialog to change the percentages.

I would check Acer's website in the support section. I suspect you have the wrong driver for your operating system.

Its dying...as a last resort make sure no magnetic devices such as speakers are near it and look for a reset function...if you can get into settings try turning it off and then turn it on and try again.

Acer x193w LCD Monitor repeatedly auto configures.

Here is a link to get the manual:

http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/data/7117/documents/X193W%20(Qisda)%20user's%20manual.pdf

Starting on page 15 are the directions for the monitor controls. Page 17 indicates a "RESET" feture to Clear the Old-Statuses of "Auto-Configuration". There are quite a number of setting for this monitor.

Acer's x193w killing my eyes..please help

First off, LCD monitors have what is called a 'native resolution' and that is why it is recommended to be at 1440 x 900. That is the resolution they work best at. My first suggestion is to try to move the monitor closer to you. If that is not possible, try right-clicking on your desktop, click on the Properties tab (That is where you change the resolution. I am doing this for a Windows XP machine - if you are running Vista please let me know and I will try to walk you through it there). Click on the "Advanced" button and in the "General" tab, there should be a "DPI Setting" drop down box. There is usually 96 DPI and 120 DPI. Try 120 DPI and see if that helps.

Second, try using your monitor's menu settings to help the color settings. On your monitor there is a "Menu" button of some sort. Press that and select "Acer eColor Management" and try "Text Mode" to see if that is easier on your eyes. You can also manually adjust the screen and lower the strength of the red color by picking "User" instead of "Acer eColor Management" and selecting the icon that looks like a pyramid of 3 dots. Try adjusting the Red slider and see if that helps.

Drivers for the Acer LCD monitor X193W under Windows XP Pro.

The acer LCD monitor is plug and play.You don't need a driver.But unless you have a graphics card that supports at least 1440x900 you have problems. Also if your card has a div connection, use that instead of the analog connector, The monitor comes with that connector. Use the old one to connect a second CRT monitor if you want. Don't connect both to the lcd monitor and to the computer unless you are using a second monitor. Like everything these days, every purchase seems to need an upgrade of sorts, On board graphics **** anyway. Buy at least a 128 MB graphic card with a digital connector and more RAM never goes astray.....

Windows XP Pro. driver for the acer LCD Monitor X193W

Hi,

To my knowledge, it is compatible and certainly would work with XP. Since this monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs make is compatible for most video cards or even a built-in video of the PC. If for some reason the Acer X193W would not work with your Windows XP PC, possible reasons are:
  • Screen Resolution and/or Screen refresh Rate of the PC's Display Properties too high, try lowering them down;
  • hardware fault either on the monitor or video card;
  • incorrect/missing drivers of the video card;
  • it is being hooked as a secondary monitor and the dual/twin view is not activated.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
