the water were i live in scotland is not hard water.how would i take the mixing valve apart?

  • bov1873 Mar 18, 2009

got mira plumber out and the cold feed into the shower is blocked somewhere in the main pipe so awaiting plumber to clear the pipe.

cut into your hot&cold taps at your bath with t joins and take the feed for them for your mixer shower!just blank off the old shower pipe.its very easy to do especially with flexi pipes and push fittings.you cant go far wrong.

What to do if i can't stop the water flowing from the shower spout and there's little water pressure coming from the shower head and a hand held shower?

One rule I live by: more parts, more problems. Sounds to me that the plumbing/valves were not insalled properly. If you hired a profesional plumber, have them fix it. I am a licensed profesional plumber and I offer a 1 year warranty on all my work. If the contractor did the work and does not hold a plumbing license, that person is still responsible and may have to suffer legal consequenses.

When shower is in use pipes vibrate and water starts to pulse, when faucet on sink is turned on it stops .What's up?Shower is an Aquasource brand.

You need to install water hammer arrestors in your basement it prevents this, if you have them already there water logged. All u do is shut off your water to your house and drain it down to the lowest point....when its done draining u fill it back up again slowly. Your water hammer arrestors may have become water logged when the new shower was installed

Just got the tub faucet fixed from leaking now the water will not get hot in the shower how do I fix this problem?

If its a balanced pressure shower then you most likely have installed the cartridge wrong. Remove the trim plates and rotate cartridge 90 degrees clockwise and re-istall trim plates

Delta RP34357 Traditional Diverter Tub Spout has been leaking around base and/or water running along bottom of spout toward wall from opening; today, whole spout blew off wall when faucet was opened only...

If this spout is less than one year old, I would contact my general contractor to get his plumber over to look at it. Most GC's (general contractors) will warrant their work for one year. If it is not under warranty, you should be able to fix this problem. Spouts do not typically blow off like that, so I am wondering if there is not an underlying circumstance. At any rate, I will assume the best and tell you how to reinstall the spout. There are several variations on spouts, but the one that is most common is a slip connection. Meaning that the spout will slide over a 1/2" copper water line protruding about 3" from the tub. After sliding the spout on, there is an allen screw on the bottom of the spout that snugs up against the copper pipe (again this is the most common type of install). If yours is different, let me know, and I will walk you through other processes. Before sliding the spout back on the copper, use plumber's putty around the opening that the copper is sticking out of. This will help to prevent water from getting behind the tub. Also, after the install; check the spout to make sure there are not any leaks. If no leaks are detected, use a clear silicone tub/shower caulk and go around the faucet. The caulk does not have to be a 1/4" bead to be effective. Run it around the spout, and using a moist towel, go back over the caulk to remove the excess. If you have done it right, you will not even notice the caulk, except for the gaps. Hope this is helpful.

I have a large whirlpool tub in MB on 1st floor. When letting water out of tub it is coming up in a large walk-in shower. The shower is draining fine...need answer! thanks

sounds like there may be some blockage in pipes. try to run a long snake through both drains or run all fixtures in bathroom and try plunging vigorously in tub and shower while running water. if nothing still, it may be possible that your underground plumbing is back graded or incorrect fittings and plumbing installation.
