Changed network on husbands' work computer; locked out.

I was trying to find a way to add users. His company is out of business. I think I messed up something with the domain name. Now when I put his name and password in it won't let me in. I know dumb of me to mess with it!

We have a laptop and a desk top computer. My email is in both and now I want to add my husband on with his own name. We would both have the same last part " mhtc.net", but he needs to have a different user name. How do I go about doing this?

It is possible that the main Administor account is unlocked, Turn off the computer and then turn it back on, while it is starting press the F8 key every 2 Secs until you see a menu, then pick SAFE MODE from the list, when the computer starts you should see your husbands profile and the administrator profile, click on the administrator and then Windows should start up, If this works and your in go into Start and then control panel, click on USERS, if you dont see users click on switch to classic mode on the top left, after you open USERS then click on your husbands profile and remove his password. after this restart the computer and you should be able to log into his account. If this does not work you will need to follow the steps from: Joed911

You can create a bootable Disk (CD or USB ) from this site to recover the password.:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html

This is what I use, it has a 30 day trail. It has a program called Locksmith which enables you to change or delete the password on any user and admin account..

copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I was given my work laptop when I changed companies. They are no longer in business and I am not able to add or delete programs due to need admin access

hi mike.
On home computers systems, the owner is usually the default administrator. In business and networked systems, this level of permission normally allows the user to install software, and change configuration settings. The term administrative privilegesis most commonly used in reference to Microsoft operating systems.

WHAT IS A DEDICATED SERVER ?

A Dedicated Server is a rented server. The users take this rented server services mainly for personal or business purpose. This server is a single computer in the whole network which is reserved for serving the needs of that network.
There are lots of companies that provide this rented server services. One of the most reliable companies that I prefer to use provides affordable services with premium quality.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 with Win7 and cannot connect to the internet via high speed modem LAN cable. Internet works on my other computer using the same LAN connection, but it is running XP. I

So is your Modem from a phone company like AT&T? It sounds like it is because phone companies use what is called PPOE which is where the modem is configured with a userid and password to get out to the internet.

Cable providers use DHCP and don't require a userid and password.

If your other computer works using the network cable but your toshiba won't work using the same network cable, I think the phone company has configured your modem to only look at and accept your other computer. You can tell the modem to use specific MAC addresses which are unique to every device that attaches to the internet. You want your modem set up to use a range of addresses, not a specific one.

Easiest way is to add yourself as a user to the computer (Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Create a new account), then your software settings are retained in their own location on the computer as long as you select to log on as you and not your husband.

Do a google search for a program called "KON BOOT" burn it to a disc. That program will bypass the log on. Once on you can create a new user with full privledges and then start to remove the other users and what ever you dont want .

Canon L:BP3500 with Vista business

Here are solutions to some common problems with Vista that you might encounter while trying to add or use network printers,

If you have used the printer before without problems, try these options:

• Make sure that the network is working and that your computer is properly connected to the network. For more information, see the following Help topics:
View the status of your home network
Identify and resolve home network problems
Troubleshoot network and Internet connection problems
• Check the status of the printer in the print queue, or go to the printer to make sure that is it powered on and ready to use.
• If the printer is plugged in to another computer and shared on the network, make sure that computer is turned on. If it is turned on and the problem persists, contact the computer owner to make sure that the computer is connected to the network.
• If you are trying to print to a printer that you added using a TCP/IP address instead of a printer name, make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet or the network where the printer is installed. If you recently experienced a power outage, the printer TCP/IP address might have changed. The new address will not work with the printer port that you used to connect the printer to your computer. Try to add the printer again. For more information, see Add or remove a printer.
If you recently installed a new version of Windows, changed the printer driver software, or are trying to print to the printer for the first time, you might need to install printer drivers that are compatible with the version of Windows that you're running. If you are trying to use a printer that is plugged in to another computer and shared on the network, make sure that a driver for your version of Windows is installed on the other computer.

Hope this helps
