MR814 Netgear internet is slow

Have you tried unplugging your router from the power outlet for 2 minutes then plugging it back again? Also, it is advisable to turn off routers every once in a while to let it rest. If problems still persist, you should try contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for additional support.

I am trying to connect my Netgear MR814 to my computer which uses Vista. Can the MR814 be used with Vista, and how do I connect?

The router including the Wi-Fi is system agnostic, so yes of course you can connect your Vista machine, or your Mac, or your Solaris, or your Linux or anything else. Just so long as your system supports the Wi-Fi card which is installed in it.
The great thing is that both the ethernet and the Wi-Fi are simply standard any system uses these systems.

I need to set up a password on my net gear MR814 .. What do I do?

How to secure the wireless network

You want to secure the wireless network.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the cable.
Check the IP address on the computer. Open the router set up page.
Once you open the set up page, you will find the option to make it secured

I need the software for the mr814

The driver is available here http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2502 but if it's not the version (version1), click on the Download menu button and enter your model no (MR814) in the search box and select the particular version... http://kb.netgear.com/app/

I have a netgear MR814 and i am wondering if you can tell me how to connect it with my home system and my Mac OSX laptop?

For you to be able to connect to your router wirelessly, the first thing that you should know is the wireless settings on your router. You should know the ssid and if wireless security is enabled. To access the router setup wizard go to http://routerlogin.com admin is the username and password is the password. Click the wireless settings tab and there you will see the wireless settings. Once you know those settings you can check the available network that your laptop is seeing and then connect to your network.

Netgear Wireless router MR814v2

the problem is that the router is not issuing the DHCP address, put in a hard-coded address such as 192.168.0.5/255.255.255.0 with a gateway of 192.168.0.1 and then manually add the DNS server address of the IPS as well and it will kick into life

You can reset your Netgear router/wireless MR814 router to the factory settings from within the router manager. The reset procedure removes all user-configured settings and returns the router to the original factory settings.

For this reason, only reset the router if you encounter problems that can't be solved with other methods.

Step 1: Check that your Netgear router/wireless MR814 router is properly connected with your system or not. If it is OK, then press reset button on Netgear router for at least 10 seconds. The 'test' light should flash during this process.

Step 2: Now open browser and enter Netgear's IP address into the address bar. Generally, '192.168.0.1' is the Netgear router IP address but you can find specific IP address in Netgear router manual.

Step 3: Now enter your default username and password to log in to router.

Step 4: Click 'Erase' button under the 'Revert to Factory Default Settings'. This process will erase all your previous changes that have been made to the router and restore the configuration settings to factory setting. Don't interrupt the process until the process is finished.

Once the router's 'test' light has stopped blinking and the configuration page you are on has refreshed, the router has been reset.
