I too use Safari and yahoo mail (v. 5.1.10) on an early 1998 MacBook OSx 10.6.8. I have tried the new version of yahoo mail but it is way too slow, so I use the Classic version. I am able to send links by manually inserting the URL into my msg text, usually using copy/paste (CMD-C/CMD-V).

I dont believe there is a way directly in safari. I would try to download firefox for free and try that. I have a new Macbook Pro and an older MacBook and they are both running firefox. Its more stable and has a lot of features that safari does not.

Hello, For the last couple of weeks my embeded links (email and websites) ae not clickable. When will this be fixed? thanks! Jeff

Good Day Jeff!

Mostly, inaability to access certain buttons, unable to compose and create message and Yahoo crashing is a sign of a weak internet browser. You need first to know what internet browser you are currently using. ( Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome are the most used internet browser)

It is possible that your internet browser is corrupted. And the best fix to solve your Yahoo mail problems is to upgrade your internet browser by installing a fresh and latest version.

Choose from the list below the most updated version of internet browser suited in your system.

Internet Explorer

Mozilla Firefox

Safari

Chrome

Download and please install in your system. Once you have installed it, run it and access Yahoo! mail. To access yahoo mail instantly,
go to https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?.intl=us&.src=ym

Jeff, please add comments later if this will not solve your problem so I can give you further solution.
Please give a thumbs up rating and click the YES button below if this will help you.

Hi,

Yahoo has been upgrading the servers and ran into difficulties, many are having the same problem. There are many issues at this time. They hope to have it fixed soon, In the meantime, you can use one of these links to access your mail, it's basic, no frills, but it works.

US:

http://us.m.yahoo.com/p/mail

UK

http://uk.m.yahoo.com/p/mail

Other

http://id.m.yahoo.com/p/mail

Not a guarantee these will work at this time. But you can try. This is not affecting some accounts, depends on which server you are on.

Thanks for using Fixya.

There is no virus on my macbook computer but people in my contacts are regularly getting emails with links to bizarre sites as if they are coming from my yahoo mail account How can i stop this from...

In case of a hacked account send a mail describing your problem to account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com. If this doesn't help, call Yahoo: 1-408-349-1572, or 1+
866-562-7219 then press on #2 explain to a customer service person what happened. They will ask you to do certain things and then they compare your original info with the changed info. Within 24 hrs you should get your account back!

or

Send an email to Yahoo Account Security Department account account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com mentioning the problem.

Just keep in mind that you have to be polite with your writing.

1. Provide them the details of the entire story.

2.Mention the time and date when you accessed your account for the last time.

3.Give the password that you last used to accessed your account.

4. Most importantly provide the all the information you entered when you register your account or just the information when you last updated your account.

5. Wait for the response, do not write several times for they will consider your messages as abuse and harassment. Be patient for you are not alone in this situation.

Good luck.

I am having issues with pulling up my email and I get this error. Can comeone please help?...

You will need to try and reset your browser.. or use a new one.

If your using internet explorer, try this

click start, click run, type in inetcpl.cpl

then on the options screen that comes up, click advanced, then click reset under reset settings, then click reset again..

then when it finishes.. close and reopen internet explorer..

Then try yahoo again.. If that doesnt work. try downloading and installing mozilla, or safari.

And then.. Using mozilla or safari to log into yahoo mail.

looks like the information such as the username and password you send get to the yahoo severs empty.
best option is to change the browser to another one. list to choose from if you are using the windows default: opera, firefox, safari, maxton, chrome. there are a lot more out there.

Default yahoo email

If you use Yahoo! Mail for all your email needs, some of the amenities of Windows seem to elude you. A click on an email link in your browser brings up Outlook Express or another desktop email program, not a new message in Yahoo! Mail. Trying to send a file directly from Word, OpenOffice.org or another office application yields the same, unsatisfactory result.

Fortunately, the state of dissatisfaction need not be permanent. It will be overcome by making Yahoo! Mail act as your default email program in Windows, which, if you use Windows 95 or later is an easy thing to do.
Make Yahoo! Mail Your Default Windows Email Program

To set up Yahoo! Mail as your default email client in Windows:

* Download and install Yahoo! Messenger.
* Select Tools | Internet Options... from the menu in Internet Explorer.
* Go to the Programs tab.
* Make sure Yahoo! Mail is selected under E-mail.
* Click OK.

Yahoo! as Default Email: Does Not Work under Windows Vista

Unfortunately, Yahoo! Mail as your default email program may be hard-wired to use Internet Explorer instead of your default browser, and it does not work in Windows Vista.
Make Yahoo! Mail the Default Email Composer in Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, you can turn to the Mailto 2 Webmail script for Greasemonkey to have Yahoo! Mail handle email links (even under Windows Vista).
