I too use Safari and yahoo mail (v. 5.1.10) on an early 1998 MacBook OSx 10.6.8. I have tried the new version of yahoo mail but it is way too slow, so I use the Classic version. I am able to send links by manually inserting the URL into my msg text, usually using copy/paste (CMD-C/CMD-V).

I dont believe there is a way directly in safari. I would try to download firefox for free and try that. I have a new Macbook Pro and an older MacBook and they are both running firefox. Its more stable and has a lot of features that safari does not.

How do I send emails. I receive incoming mail but am unable to send a reply or a new email Why?

If you use email provider like Gmail or Yahoo first go directly to gmail or yahoo site using Safari and sign into your email that way if it works and no problem with your password logout and close Safari
Then go to Mail app on your mac (Stamp Icon)delete the mail account (don't worry you will not lose your emails) Then start over by setting up your email account all over again this should do the trick.

I cannot send an email with an attachment. The Yahoo page freezes and I have to Force Quit my Safari search engine to just get out of Yahoo. I have already sent a message but I can't find Yahoo or Email or...

1) Go to your Applications folder (Macintosh HD/Applications)
2) Look for Safari
3) Right click on Safari (also known as ctrl+click) and select Get Info...
4) Check the box to use Safari in 32-bit mode
5) Try sending your e-mail with attachment again

If this works for you, the problem is that AT&T e-mail (Yahoo! e-mail) uses a plug-in that is not designed for 64-bit Safari but running this plug-in while Safari is running in 32-bit mode should work just fine. Just try the above and try sending your e-mail message with attachment and see if this works for you.
