Question about Toshiba 32AF43 32" TV
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PROCEEDING. If you feel confident, and ONLY so.Open the back, keep going until you are able to remove the small cable that connects to the top of the screen. It will be flat and approximately 2" wide, there will be one or more ribbon cables that go directly to the LCD display, but ignore these. Some manufacturers glue the flat connector in place, if this is the case with your model, use a hairdryer or hot air gun to soften and remove the glue, it is CRITICAL that you take care when doing so, as the connectors are very fragile on purpose. Then clean the contacts on the connector you can now remove with isopropanol or other fast drying alchohol with a toothbrush (not used), and reconnect it. You may wish to re-glue or using Electricians tape, secure it back in place. Many of these connectors are clipped in and have a latch that will need to either lift, or slide away from the PCB before you can gently remove the connector. Once you have cleaned the brass or gold contacts, very carefully replace and reassemble your TV.
