Open skype
look under the tools

goto video settings
can you see yourself?
If you can then your video works.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do i set up my web camera how do i use my built in camera in my laptop

Using a 3rd-party software like Skype or Yahoo! Messenger, you need to configure those software in order to use your webcam.

Open YM and go to Preference (Options for Skype)
Go to My Webcam and configure your software to use your built-in webcam and click save

For Skype, Select Options then Video settings...

Don't forget to click save after setting the webcam.

Remove both Webcam driver and skype with a software called Vista Manager from yamicsoft.

Why a third party tools to uninstalled a software? The answer is it will remove even the files or registry key that is concern with that software.

Download the file using the link below

http://www.yamicsoft.com/vistamanager/software/vistamanager.exe

If you are with windows 7 then downalod Windows 7 Manager

Here is the link :

First installed your webcam driver and check webcam work or not. Then installed skype software.

I am considering buying a web cam so that when I go out of state for a couple months I can talk and see my little grandson in person. But it looks quite complicated, so I am not sure this is a good idea....

I recommend you use the Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000 or VX-6000. It is the best for getting support and drivers. It cost
around $38.00 for the VX-3000.
Microsoft cameras mentioned are good for use with all the Windows Operating Systems through Windows 7 their new Operating System.
I will give you some information you can save for future use if you buy any web camera.

Save this for future use:
Follow these instructions and your camera should work properly.

Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Then to use it on the Web, do this.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/ ) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
2. Then click on the Video Settings.
3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.

B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.

1. Windows Live Messenger:

Go to this site http://download.live.com/?sku=messenger and download Windows Live Messenger.

1. After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
2. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions.

NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud

I receive a message, "Webcam is not connected."

This is happening because your web cam is not getting properly disconnected after you finish call or you finish self testing.

Possible your skype is set on automatically login when system starts, web cam will not work on 2 different platform at a time.

Skype needs to be configured for people to see you.
Open Skype, Click on Tools tab, then Options, then Video Settings.
Select the WEB camera from the pull down list and click on your WEB cam.
Tick Enable Skype video
Tick Start my video automatically when I am in a call

In Automatically receive video from - select anyone or only people in my Contact List.

In Show that I have Video to - select People in my Contact List

Then Click on Save.

In the Audio Settings - make sure you have selected the correct mic. and the other settings, don't forget to save.

Close Skype - now when you receive a call or when you call someone they should noe see you.

Have fun.

Unable to hear other party. Can see myself, and others, no sound

Which ever Messenger or Skype you are using has to be setup in order to function. I'll assume that you are using YAHOO MESSENGER and walk you through the setup. All Messengers and Skype have an Audio & Video setup in them so the camera and microphone work properly with their program.
Bring up Yahoo Messenger and on the top left click on MESSENGER.
Then click on "Messenger Preferences."
Next in Category click on "CALLIN & DEVICES."
When that comes up check and check to see that Microphone is set to your audio card.
Next insure that the speakers are set to you audio card.
Then go to "Test Audio"
In Blue "Open the call setup Assistant"
When the window opens follow the instructions. When finished your camera audio should function properly.

Also you need to go to the Video setup and do the same so it will broadcast the pictures.
Hope this helps. Bud

No.

Is's ok to have only one cam.

You can see the video from your oposite if they have a cam.
Or if only you have a cam the other party should be able to see you.
