I have a Simpson 4240 h with aaa tri-plung pump. I am trying to remove the pump from the engine but don't see a set screw. I know there are two bolt holes that say 5/16" which I assume u run the bolts

no set screw then just four bolts from flange and yes you can ude bolts to extract but not recommended if frozen your best bet is to insert a tie rod puller in between the engine and pump and strike it with a hammer if you do not have enough gap try two small chisel and wedge one on one side carefully then insert other to the opposite end and chisel til you separate them.

Honda gx390

All the GX series engines I have dealt with have had governor rods that connected to a pivot on the throttle plate separate from the actual throttle control although this can vary from application to application since different Pressure washer makers do make some modifications to suit their specific needs and applications I have yet to run across this being changed, so I would say no, not likely.

Trying to take old pump off Honda gx390 powerwasher n can't get off any help please?

if all bolts removed and entire pump is spinning then pump may be corroded to shaft. try gentle levering while taping with soft hammer. ie rubber brass etc. get firmer till released, pump may break in this process and need replacing

Where can i buy a gearbox that attaches to the honda GX390 QAE2

General Pump and Annovi Reverberi make them... among others I guess. Usually in shaft sizes 1" or 1 1/8" shafts x 2 15/16" if that matches your type. Bolt patterns are universal. a google search should give you several options.

Honda gx390 has low power.

Well it sounds like you may need new piston rings or an engine rebuild due to low compression. But a good way to tell if you need an engine rebuild is to test the compression and see if it is up to spec. You can often just feel that the engine is very easy to turn over which is a good sign that you need a rebuild.
