Question about HP DesignJet 450c InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP Design Jet 450 C won't print

I send a file to print and on the computer the print icon pops up showing that the file was sent. The ready light flashes and then stops and the load media button comes on even though I have paper loaded. Basically nothing happens.

***it could be a communication issue: port setting, cable, ecc.

It could be a driver problem too. You need a compatible version with your Windoes version.

After hours of trying to fix i installed Driver Detective which said there wasn't a driver for the printer, yet had been. So removed what i thought to be the driver and then downloaded again, after 6 hours, bringing in a techbician to no avail... it is finally fixed. cheers

Printer is paused all the time

Hello, sounds like your drivers are messed up, reload them to the computer or the connection cable maybe bad. If neither of these fix then the printer is bad.

Hi there,
It seems that " Print on both sides (Manually)" is selected in printing options., when you want to print any document Go to file Print > select printer and click properties and disable the Manual printing option in device settings.
You should be able to get printing without errors,
if the option is not checked then check for the default paper tray,
save the settings and reboot your laptop/desktop and restart printer as well so that settings should work properly and any given command gets clear from memory, If these all settings are ok, Uninstall the printer driver and download the latest version drivers from HP website and install see links below

I think the problem is not the computer. You shoud check the plotter by running the test print without the computer. When plotter's power is on, press Setup and Cancel keys simultaneously. If it does not print, then the plotter need repair.
According to your descriptions, there is System Error Code shown on your control panel. when the lights on for Ready+Cartridges+Data (DKL), it may have 9 possible causes referred by Service Manual page 2-7. You can check all these 9 items to see which one causes the problem.

When sending print job - does not print and shuts down program

I removed the printer and all supporting files. I reconnected the printer and let the computer find it as new hardware and automatically load the driver. It solved the problem.

Ihave a hp Laser jet p1005 that has stopped working

First delete everything sent to the printer. Either click on the printer icon down by the clock (bottom right) if it is showing or go to start settings 'Printers and Faxes' and double click on your printer. Highlight everything sent to the printer and select canel documents.

Try stopping and re-starting print spooler. Right click on 'My Computer' select 'Manage' now select 'Services'. Scroll down until you get to print spooler. You can select it then right click and choose 'Stop'. Now click on it again and choose 'Start'.

Just to be safe restart your computer.
