Question about Olympus Evolt E-510 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera set to RAW, but pics showing up as JPEG when viewed, stored

Hello all:

I shoot lovely pictures, but I'm a technical idiot. I'm using an Olympus 510. I set the camera to shoot RAW and SHQ. However, when I view them on a card reader , or when I download them onto my hard drive to back them up, they show up only as ############.jpeg files. And they all have the same filename, such as BNRTBQ4856(1), BNRTBQ4856(2), BNRTBQ4856(3) etc. No sign of RAW files. I assume RAW files show up with ########.RAW filenames. Is there a secret handshake I don't know about? Thanks in advance for any help.

Some cameras will shoot RAW + JPEG, and save a copy of each in a different directory on the card.

Re-check your owners manual, and also check the manufacturer's website for a firmware update...
