A friend gave us his kids' old Little Tikes Hummer H2. Said it worked fine. My two kids rode it fine for a few minutes the first night and 1st, 2nd, and Rev worked. The next day, only 2nd worked. After that, no gear selected would work. Bought a new battery, but it didn't make a difference. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Ifound some pretty good prices for the parts at kidswheels.com

Have the same problem. A friend has the same Hummer (different color) and has had the same problems. They paid about $100 for a new part and it only temp. fixed the problem. Batteries are a waste of money and won't fix the problem. From what I've read since, these toys are built to last exactly till they have passed warranty and are too expensive to fix.

La caja de engranes de la transmisión se rompio y no puedo conseguir un reemplazo, donde puedo conseguirlos

It is the gears that are stripped on the first gear in the the gearbox. I haven't found gears but you can buy new a gearbox for around $50 each. I'm looking for the gear before spending any more than I have to. I have only one gear box out. The other gears are ok so 2nd works but rev and 1st do not because the one motor cannot do the job.

Don't leave the vehicles out in the rain/weather! Water stands in the area where the switches are and corrodes them.

Ours was doing the same thing it ended up being not gears but the switches in the gearbox (where they shift the gears.) There is one that controls forward and reverse and one that controls low high for forward. When I bypassed the low high reverse started working and high gear works, now it is running 2 speeds. Forward full and reverse. Figured he is ready for high speed now.

First, I replaced the battery. No need to buy the expensive branded battery - in the case of the Hummer H2, just get a standard 12v 12mAh battery and attach the special wiring harness from the old one to it.

I then desoldered and resoldered a bad connection on the battery cable.

Then, I took apart the gear shifter and used contact cleaner on all the switches.

Finally, the jeep works!!!

I just fixed this problem on my neices Hummer. It worked in high gear and not in low or reverse. Firt thing, these toys Do Not have Gear Boxes. There are two switches under the gear shifter, all you have to do is spray contact cleaner in the switches and it will work fine again.

Keep the vehicle out of the rain/weather! Standing water in the area where the switches are will corrode the contacts. If you already have this problem, cleaning the contacts or replacing the switches and/or wiring harness may be necessary.

I saw that one person put to take off the battery harness and put it on a standard new battery. How do you do this? Are you talking about the black casing that has the handle attached? I don't want to break the battery open but the stores here don't have this exact battery to buy with the same plug.

Battery-powered vehicles such as this DO NOT HAVE ANY GEARS - the "gear shift" is essentially a "low speed" a "high speed" and a "reverse" selector (actually (2) two-way rocker switches) - 99% chance that there is nothing wrong with the switches - the contacts need to be cleaned

Our 4931 Hummer is not working. I don't know if the battery is bad, if it is the charger, or what it is. Nothing happens at all when we push the little gas pedal.

I'm currently overhauling one I bought from a yard sale. I've seen on forums the gear switches get all mucked up and don't make contact (like mine here). They can be cleaned or replaced. http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-little-tikes.html

I'm an electrician so most parts can be tested to see if they work by 'continuity'. You might need someone to test the battery, then motors in the back and then the switches for you to find your problem.

I have a little tikes 451 K Hummer h2 riding toy,

Hi Susie,

There are several options available.

There are numerous new chain stores popping up that specialize in batteries only. Batteries Plus, Batteries Only, etc.

These type batteries are usually sealed lead acid. So another alternative is an auto parts store for a motorcycle battery or a lawn garden dept, for a riding mower battery.

Just bring the old one with you to get the size right. You want to make sure it fits and the terminals should match.

Best regards
Mike

I need to remove the rear tires on a little tikes hummer h2,

I would take a pair of pliers and pull off the push nuts.
You have to replace the push nuts with new ones, but when you purchase the little tikes hummer wheels from http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-little-tikes.html
they provide the push nuts with the wheels

I removed the screw so the hummer could go in gear 2 and now it doesn't reverse or drive in gear 1, tried to adjust it and now it doesnt move at all would could be the problem?

I had the same problem with my hummer, so I ended up replaceing the wiring harness.
I was able to find it at this website:
http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-little-tikes.html
I would email them about the part because they may have a few more questions to make sure you get the right parts.
Hope this helps.

Hummer tire not rollin

The Little Tikes Gearbox might be bad.
The motor came loose from the gearbox on my kids hummer, so the gears were not turning right.
You can also contact this website. http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-little-tikes.html
I got my parts from them and they helped me figure out what was wrong.

Maybe you have a bad switch problem, but I would talk to them before you purchased anything. Your Little Tikes Battery might be bad as well, or the charger.
Hope this helps

441m hummer little tikes not working installed new battery and still will not operate

I would make sure that the wires are connected secure.
Maybe it is the switches. I know they have a problem over time when water or any normal wear and tear occurs.
The Little Tikes hummer switches are specific but I know this website carries some parts.
