Re: Sharp AL1631- Paper will not feed through
First off I seen these problems so many many times as an sharp dealer, I think I may drop the support however, the reason why your are getting the misfeed is beacuse your paper feed tires are worn and need replacing, r u in Ct f so we can helpif not call your indepenant dealer , remember Staples will not support this machine, and tell him your paper feed tires are bad and needs replacing the Noise could be anything let's fix one problem at a time ok.

This code is for LCT (Large Capacity Tray) lock release failure. This means there is a problem with the LCT, usually the large paper drawer at the bottom. This code is usually reset by opening then closing the front door. Sometimes turning off then on the main power switch on the right side will clear it. Try releasing the LCT and get it open. Then check the paper in the tray. Most of the time when there are problems with these LCT's it is because too much paper has been loaded or it has been loaded improperly. If you get it open, remove all paper. Then load smaller amounts of paper at a time to insure that it is loaded perfectly. Only load the tray half full at first and then close the drawer and allow it to lift. Then make a copy from that drawer to be sure it feeds paper. Then release the drawer again and finish loading if you want. If you continue to have the code then you can leave the drawer open an inch or so to de-activate it so you can still use the printer from the other drawers until you can get a technician out ot service it.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
the reason for this could be that you have run the feed tires and seperation tires bald by only using the upper paper tray. i would suggest getting the feed tires replaced and that should fix the problem. you might also check behind the paper drawer to make sure that a piece of paper did jam and get shoved up behind the drawer and is keeping it from working
On most Kyocera Mita copiers a J-11 code indicates a possible paper jam when paper is being fed from drawer #1, but sometimes a J-11 will be indicated when the paper fails to feed from the drawer. Check the paper stops and paper guides in the drawer and make sure that they are flush against the paper, also cleaning the paper feed and pick-up rollers with a rag dampened with just plain water will help sometimes unless the rollers are completely worn out. If all this doesn't help you may have a paper feed clutch or lift motor that has failed.
FYI... The copier will show a jam for 3 reasons. 1 Paper never got to the sensor, 2 Sensor sees paper there all the time or 3 Paper doesn't arrive at the right time. Alot of times paper feed rollers are dirty or worn, often ignored and overlooked, and these will give intermittant jams that show up anywhere in the paper path, often looking like a differant problem. Sometimes sensors are dirty with paper dust and will show a jam when there isn't one, in which case a can of compressed air is good to blow them out. Question, is this jamming out of all drawers and bypass or just one drawer. This would help in eliminating possibilities. Good luck, let me know if you have more questions. Please rate this. Thanks
