Question about Food Mixers
Check the numbers on the dough hook, at the top by the drive pin, it should read "R30", and the bowl (kettle) look on the aluminum ring around the bowl, it should say R30-29M, if it does, you indeed have the correct hook and bowl. If it does not, one of them is wrong. We ship the units out with a 1/4" gap between the bottom of the hook and the bowl. Hope this helps, I have worked for Varimixer for 25 years.

This is a dough hook and would typically only be used to knead dough. Therefore, the extra clearance makes sense for kneading dough. For other mixer jobs, use other attachments.
