Hello, this is due to an update ASUS made to the wireless driver, it currently has an issue with WEP/WPA being active, for it to work this need to be disabled until ASUS comes out with a new update.

There are a few things people have tried on this blog which seems to have worked.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The wireless router needs to be configured and the wireless card in the computer needs to be configured with the wireless router's settings for both of them to communicate with each other.
To secure your router with a login password, wireless security, and configure the wireless card please follow my instructions - click on this link :-

what version of linux are you using? If it's one that came preinstalled with the laptop I suggest looking at Ubuntu netbook edition, *very* capable OS, if that can't handle it nothing will.

your SSID (name of router) must be identical for all points in the network. click on properties to see your info. click on wireless,. tcp/ip & dns to see how you are set up. your service provider should have the ssid info as well.

What type computer? Wireless network ? FROM the language you are using [" picks up connection"] It is wireless. You may be picking up "outside" signals. When they are weak, you may get something!,then u loose it. Thats why "pending & nothing happens"
