How to hookup vcr to TV to tape from sat...

I have dish network and would like to hook up my vcr/dvd to my plasma 42" panasonic tv and be able to tape from the satelitte. Right now, I can hook up vcr/dvd to tv and view tapes or dvd's, but can not view tv and tape from satelitte. TV model TH42PX504.

Go from the output of the satelite to the vcr/dvd input and from the dvd/vcr output to plasma set.
