Question about Jamo A 102 HCS 5 System
The manual is too sparse of information. Can I download more information on connectivity and set up for this surround sound speaker package?
Any make should do, just be sure the ohms match or else you run the risk of damaging the speakers if they are under rated, or the reciever if they are overrated. Usually it can range from 4 to 8 ohms, which is represented by a horseshoe shaped symbol.

If the subwoofer has its own power cord seperate from the rest of the audio system, the internal amplifier could be fried or u have a loose connection inside the box

Yes, these speakers need an amplifier. So unless your DVD player features an amplifier, then you will need separate 5.1 receiver, for example Yamaha RX-V365 or RX-V465 (which supports audio via HDMI input).
