Question about Proform Crosswalk 500 Treadmill

1 Answer

I have an Image 929- 15 yrs old. Has been working great. I have changed the drive motor belt before and it worked fine. Lately the belt is loose with a decent amount of play. I have tried to tighten the platform on both the front adjustment screw as well s the two rear treadmill adjustment screws, no go though it still slows down or stops for a second when you walk on it as it is running. I tried a new belt, buying one an inch smaller to see if this would help- but it did not even fit without prying it on- so I abandoned that idea, Any suggestions ? I am going to go and just buy a new drive train belt today and put it in

when I jog the belt speed changes and then it will stop. Motor belt is tight, motor brushes are okay, walking belt is tight per spec, pick-up is adjusted 1/8, now what?

I would first watch the unit while walking and visably see if the drive belt is slipping or the walking belt is. If neither one seems slipping, it is possible that the torque control on the motor control board is not correct

How do u replace broken belt on a white -westinghouse washer new model 3 yrs old

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
If yours is a 'standard' front loader (you do not say the actual model number) the belt should be easy to be changed by a competent person:-
The motor support bolts should be loosened and the old belt removed. Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Washer doesn't spin ; model 3200 bosch; 4 yrs. old; other cycles work

Although all brands are different in design, the basic concept is the same. When a machine won't spin, there are several things to consider:

  • Is the belt broken? Loose?
  • Does the lid switch click when closing? (see video below)
  • Does the spin solenoid engage? (1984 and before)
  • Drive coupling worn out? (on some newer Whirlpool & Kenmore top loaders)
  • Clutch worn out?
  • Current to motor? (Use voltmeter to check)

Our LSR7233HQ0 washer is 10 yrs. old and the agitator stopped spinning. Any repair tips?

You may have broken the drive belt. Can you hear the motor spinning still? If yes, then it is definitely a broken drive belt.

Yes, what I believe you have, is a loose drive belt. this can be due to several things,1st, the drive tensioner spring may be broken, 2nd,the drive belt tensioner pivot arm may need lube, or the belt is worn out.
You did not mention the hydro making noise(whining) if that were the case i would have you check to see if the brake were sticking.

Washer squeaks really loud while agitating. Drains great 6yr old

Could indeed be the belt or at worst it could be thr main bearing getting dry and gradually seizing up. Hope it,s the belt!!

Treadmill Incline Works, belt does not move

Check the drive belt. It may be loose or broken. If the belt is loose, then to tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down.
