Have a 2003 Ford Focus. When key is on, the lights, wipers, everything works, windows etc...new battery. However, the starter won't turn over. Checked all fuses and nothing. Any ideas????
Try crossing the starter wires, it should turn over. Is key ok, maybe its not coded? Also check connectors on starter . Try disconnecting battery for 30 mins, might reset electrics.

sounds to me that you have an igniton problem not a starter problem and or if you have or had an alarm system could be cause if u do give me feedback and i will explain but seems that your starter is fine from what u say but if you think in terms of the elemts to start a vehicle batery gives pwoer to ignition which sends to starter which gives spark etc i would check you ignition system something is causeing a short and not alowing starter to function

It could be your neutral safety switch. It could be the starter relay which is located in the fuse panel box. It could be the smaller wire going to the starter could be loose or corroded.

does the vehicle have an anti theft device on it if so it may need to be reset. usually all you have to do is unlpug the negative batt cable. for about 5 mins.and reconnect it. if this does not solve the problem look i the owners manual to see how to override the system.

Ignition relay or fuse could be the problem. When you turn the key to start do you hear a fuel pump kicking on and or do you have spark when you hot wire the starter (I know it's hard to check while trying to start it)? You can email me back and I might be able to pinpoint it more.

first time i started the car had to jump it while puting in another battery my friend says he put cable backwards and threw a spark have not been able to get car to turn over by switch sense i can put a push button start switch on wire going to starter and it will turn over but fuel pump dose not come on nor do i get any fire from plug wires
Blown main fuse, this is a very large fuse under the hood, check it and come back to me.
