No you do not need to replace your video card. Just once you get your new monitor walk through the installing monitor driver fro, the new installation CD and you should be good to go.

Need abetter graphic card for acer aspire 5251

in Acer Aspire Series is using Intergrated Graphic Card.
that mean if you wanna Upgrade your Graphic Resolution,
you have to set to a bigger shared memory/RAM for Display Graphic Card/VGA memory from BIOS Setup.
for example if you using RAM 2Gb, and you can make your VGA(Video Graphic Adapter) to 1Gb.
But in My Computer Properties the RAM will Show only 1Gb.
Because another 1Gb of RAM you've use for VGA.
you can check it from dxdiag.
(for opening dxdiag > Click Start > click RUN... > type dxdiag > and Oke/Enter)

I think it is not possible to uograde the video card as the T135 has the video card integrated and offers no slot for an upgrade.

Monitor looks floresent

1. this could be the video card itself.
2. you could have a bad inverter that is the electronic circuit in the monitor that converts the signal to video from the video card.
If this is the case your monitor needs service.\
3. check the cable/ sometime it is not connected to the video card properly.
4. Some times it is the video card drivers that need an upgrade or to be updated.

I just bought a new monitor, Acer 22'' & I see it says my computer graphics card needs to support 1680 X 1050. So I checked and my system only goes up to 1280 X 1024. Will my new monitor work well, or...

it will work but the resolution will be off and you wont get the best quality since the screen is bigger than the video card can handle.. i would get a new video card that would provide enough resolution to get the best results from your monitor.. i had to upgrade when i hooked my computer up to a 32" tv

I just bought a new acer 22 in monitor...i can't seem to get rid of the squat look

you need a video card that is capable of widescreen display resolutions.  Most older cards and onboards do not have this feature.

According to Acer your system can support a max of 4 gb RAM. It has 2 slots so you would need 2, 2 GB RAM modules. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Acer screen saver keeps coming on while I'm working

It appears that you are losing the video connection between your computer and the the monitor. Remove the conector from the video card and reconnect it again, make sure the connector is firmly secure. If the problem still persists you could have a faulty video card and it needs to be replaced.

If the video card is built in on the motherboard, you still need to purchase a new video card (buy a AGP graphics card), insert into the AGP slot of your computer, you may need to disable the onboard graphics card - go into the BIOS to do this, and you need to install the new graphics card driver.
