The upper arm of my Frigidaire Professional Series dishwasher came off. I don't know how. The are no cracks or broken pieces. When I try to push it back in place, the receiving swivel recedes into the dishwasher roof. I can't remove the top rack either to get a closer look. Any idea how to put the arm back on? I appreciate the help.
I hope it did not break, only came off. I had the same problem. You have to unscrew the round part from the ceiling of the dishwasher, put the three pieces together, easy, and then screw the whole thing back. No tools needed. Top rack can stay on while working. It helps if the dishwasher is empty. If the threading is good, this should solve the problem.

Hello - Are you referring to the spray arms will not rotate? If so, do you noticed if the spray arm is cracked or broken? Will it rotate slowly? If so, you might have to remove and replace the spray arm assemblies. I will suggest verifying that there is enough water pressure coming into the unit. If any proves to be ineffective, it could possibly have a communication problem coming from the main control board or wiring connections to the dispenser, I would suggest contacting a professional technician to diagnose the unit accurately.

Check the water supply line for kinks, check bottom strainer/drain inside to remove particles/trash blocking water from exiting to pump washer motor, be sure no items block rotation of washer heads. Good luck.
The most likely answer is that your upper rotor spray arm isn't spinning or spraying water. They aren't powered by a motor - they are driven by water pressure. The most common reason for them not spinning is a blockage somewhere. The lower rotor arm is spraying dirt from the plates in the lower rack onto the glassware and there is no spray from the upper rotor arm to rinse it off.
Check the small spray holes on the top of the upper rotor arm. If they are blocked, use a large pin or a cocktail stick to clean them out. If they aren't blocked, check to see whether the upper rotor arm is spinning by following these steps:
1. Note the exact position of the upper spray arm or spin it so that it is running precisely left to right or front to back 2. Close the door 3. Start any wash cycle 4 After it has finished filling with water and starting cycling the water, open the door and note the position of the upper spray arm again.
If the spray arm is in the exact same position as when you closed the door it's almost definite that it's not spinning. In this event, cancel the wash and do the above test one more time just to eliminate the element of pure chance.
Try the above tests and checks and then post back with the results if you need any further assistance. If posting back, please include the full model number of your Frigidaire dishwasher
If you are referring to the arm on the top of the dishwaser (not the one under the top basked) it snaps in. What probably happened is that it fell off and the plastic nut flipped around. The gray plasting thing on the top (that looks like a flower) will unscrew and you can turn the nut around and snap it back on and then re-attach the entire piece.
I realize this problem was in March of 2008 but if in the case someone else needs the solution. The Frigidaire website doesn't list this in there troubleshooting list either.
I had the same problem and let the upper spray arm off for a couple of months. My glasses were not getting cleaned as well so I was rewashing everything by hand. What's the point of that if I have a dishwasher.
On the inner roof of the dishwasher there is a round piece that you hook the upper spray arm to. Well it's a pain to try to just snap it on. Unscrew it by hand, get the little white plastic piece so the teeth are pointing out of the hole and snap on it on that way. One tooth at a time and it should go back on. It will be wobbly. Works like new I am so happy !
From now on be careful what you place on the top rack, if the item is too big it will cause it to snap off again. I know I will :)
Thank god I didn't get a repair man in here for something as minimal as that.
