disconnect the battery, than reconnect. radio should indicate code.. press in the code using the 1-6 radio preset buttons, if correct code , it should function normally, if wrong code it will indicate code on the display, it will only allow 3 or 5 failed attempts than will need battery to be disconnected again.
In most cases yes. You may be able to protect the memory with an accessory plug power pack.
Some radios will hold memory for a short time to allow battery to be changed. Please read your manual or contact the service dept for your car.
There is no code for resetting a radio. If there is not reset switch, you can reset a radio by disconnecting power to it for a few seconds. This can be done by either disconnecting the wire harness behind the radio, or if you don't know how to get the radio out of the dash, you can disconnect one of the terminals of the battery for a few seconds.
Most car radios need a code when theyve been disconnected , also some car radios are made to turn off after 20 mins use so that it cant be left on accidently , this is a battery saving idea , it can be bypassed though by rewiring a live connection to the radio rather than a connection through the ignition
When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect itagain, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your carradio. The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. Ifyou do not have this code you need to go to your vehicle manufacturer's servicecentre and get them to enter this code for you.
Hi; I do not believe the need the s/n from the radio. If you can contact the dealer where you baught the car new, they will have the code in their sevice department records. Just tell them the VIN for the car and they should give it to you free. When you get it it is 5 digits in length. Press and hold the code button untill you here a beep. Release the 'code' ( the am/fm ) button and enter the code numbers using the preset buttons as the numbers (1-5or else 6).
