My Protron 37 in. LCD Tv is connected to the HD cable box and has been fully functional up until last week. The tv no longer can be turned on/off nor does the vol+- work using the remote control--all other functions work fine. The manual on/off and vol controls work fine. I replaced the batteries in the remote control and re-entered the codes available--same results. Any ideas?

You may just have a bad remote or the IR sensor in the TV may be bad. Bring the remote to a store that sells Protron and try it. You may be able to get a new one if it is bad

yes , its a small converter box about 3''x5'', cost about $20, your local hardware store should have it.

If your using HD, then use the RGB component input 1. or AV 1 if your not using HD.

I am getting a "no signal" on the blue screen on DTV mode of my Protron PLTV-3750 LCD. It has worked until I moved it to a different room. The signal is good on other tv. Anything I can do?
First make sure you have your cables connected securely, then try to move your antenna around and rescan your channels everytime you move the antenna.

Menu feature on pltv-3750 is not functioning on dtv source.
ATSC is not a cable tuner, it is for antenna only. Qam tuner is for HD cable. If you dont have a QAM tuner you need a cable box.

REMOTE OPERATION
Looks like a common frequency and coding problem. Try to keep the TV and Cable box far away and try the remote. If it works, then, escalate to Cable operator for providing a new box with remote or ask for a different brand of cable box.

The capacitors on the power supply are probably leaking. If you can find a tech who still can do component leval repair he can replace the caps, and not the power board.. Much cheaper
The power supply is under rated and don't seem to last long. Maybe a couple of years... If higher voltage caps are used to repair it the longer it will last.

It depends on when it was made.. Look on the back and if it was made before last year it may not be digital.

I have three of these at my shop. Same thing. FK shop
jimmy and E-bay Save a couple of bucks and get a warenty.
