SOURCE: the water is staying in carpets and is not being sucked back to the machine

The pick up slot across the front of the unit may be blocked or internal path for the water into the tank. Disconnect from electric and strip down the head and check for fibres/fluff balls - as these are the normal culprits. I am assuming that the suction motor is running?
Good luck

SOURCE: not picking up water on a bissel proheat turbo 2x

If unit is not picking up solution it is most likely the small red plastic filter that is just above the small float door in the top piece just left of the tool switch.. pop it out clean muck out of it and it will work like new again.. have fun!!

My Bissell little green machine has no suction at the hose end.

If your Bissell Little Green Machine has no suction at the hose end but good suction underneath the dirty water tank, try these steps: check for clogs in the hose and attachment, ensure the tank and filters are properly seated, test without an attachment, inspect for damaged hoses or seals, clean the machine, and run hot water through the hose. If the issue persists, contact Bissell customer support for assistance or consult your user manual for specific troubleshooting steps.

Bissell 9300 2 x will not pick up water. What is remedy?

First make sure it's putting out enough water. There can be enough water coming out to get the carpet wet but not enough that it picks up much water. This is most often the problem to most machines brought in for repairs. If it's putting out enough water and can't pick it up there has to be something restricting the suction. It could be a clog or something is allowing air to leak restricting suction. Inspect the areas where the suction comes from the machine, through the dirty water tank all the way down to the floor nozzle.

Royal carpet extractor not picking up water well

Try to follow the suction from the machine through the dirty water tank to the front floor suction piece. Make sure the dirty water tank is seated properly. Make sure there are no suction leaks any where.

If your ProHeat 2X machine is not suctioning properly, first check the motor duct gasket. To check this, first remove the tank and place your hand over the rubber square opening. If there is no suction there, please take your machine to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center for inspection. If your machine does have suction at the duct, continue to check the following:
- Ensure the Ready Tools Dial is set to the appropriate setting (Floor Cleaning or Hose Attachments).
- Remove the tank from the machine and ensure the tank lid is attached properly. The front window must first hook onto the lip of the bottom of the tank and then drape over the tank. Latch the bottom tank to the top tank lid. THIS LID CANNOT BE ATTACHED PROPERLY IF THE TANK IS NOT REMOVED FROM THE MACHINE.
- Make sure the Water Tank is not full on the outside of the bladder. If it is, empty the tank.
- Ensure the hose is firmly attached to the back of the machine. If not, re-insert as necessary by twisting into place.
- The machine must be in an upright, locked position and set to the Hose Attachment setting. If the handle is slightly tilted back while using, it will create a small gap at the suction inlet (where handle meets gasket, above the Bottom Tank) which will cause little or no suction.
- Check the red Tank Lint Screen for debris. If the Lint Screen is dirty, the unit will have poor suction. Clean the Lint Screen if necessary.
- If the float flap door in the tank lid is activating prematurely when you turn the machine on, this flap door should be replaced.
- Check the Tank Lid and Tank for damage.

If you continue to experience low suction, please take your machine to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center. The warranty on your machine is one year. To locate your nearest BISSELL Authorized Service Center, click here.

The steam vac will not pick up dirty water. I never had this problem with a steam cleaner. I bought Hoover because of its reputation and I cannot get the suction on the bottom container to work. This...

The most common reason for lack of pick up is that the lid is not fully seated on the dirty water tank. Be sure to hook the two tabs on the front of the lid, and then snap the rear latch into place. Another reason is that the duct on the front of the dirty water tank is missing. The duct may have been removed to install the hose, and was not put back in place. It is a square plastic piece, about the size of a slice of sandwich bread, which slides into the front of the tank. On new models the duct tilts forward and cannot be removed. A far less common reason for no pick-up is that the seal that the tank sits on has fallen off the motor cover suction tube. You will see a round tube on the bottom of the dirty water tank. This sits on top of a large rubber seal on the motor cover when the tank is in place. Be sure the seal has not fallen down into the hood.

It does pick up the water

Sometimes the counting screws to the base of this machine get broken off and will not allow the dirty water tank to set just right to create suction. You may have to buy a new base housing for this machine.
