Hi there.
As far as i know it does, the voltage makes no difference in this matter, any compatibility issue will be the clock speed of the ram, its lowest support is 333Mhz, its highest is 400Mhz (PC3200) so PC2700 is supported by the motherboard. What you could do is remove the new memory, place the old memory back in and start the PC, if you get a post screen enter the bios and set it to default, save and exit the bois and turn off the PC, remove the power cord and try to reinstall the new memory on its own first.
post back if you need any more help.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

This page lists the type of ram that is compatible with your system, pay close attention to the voltage.

Take the part number from the stick you're trying to install and punch it into Google to see what the exact specs are.You may find that the voltage is different...

I want to upgrade my processor and memory on my acer travelmate 4000. I currently have an Intel Pentium M 1.5GHz 496RAM processor. I have 2 memory slots each containing 256MB type DDR PC2700, DDR...

I suggest adding 2X 1GB DDR PC2700 memory sticks. Crucial also recommends it, but as long as it's only 1gb thats DDR PC2700 per stick it's compatible, so you can shop around if you like and choose the cheapest.

Hope this helps!

CAN I INSTALL DDR2 MEMORY OR DO I HAVE TO USE THE DDR TYPE FOR HP PAVILION DV5215US

Your unit uses:
DDR memory with support for DDR PC3200, DDR PC2700 speeds.

Because DDR memory is backward-compatible, you can safely upgrade your system with any of the guaranteed-compatible DDR speeds listed below, even if your manual calls for PC1600 or PC2100 speeds.

Each memory slot can hold DDR PC3200, DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Q: What memory goes into my computer, and will a faster speed be backward-compatible?
A: DDR memory with support for DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 speeds.
Because DDR memory is backward-compatible, you can safely upgrade your system with any of the guaranteed-compatible DDR speeds listed below, even if your manual calls for PC1600 or PC2100 speeds.
Q: How much memory can my computer handle?
A: 2048MB.
Adding the maximum amount of memory will improve performance and help extend the useful life of your system as you run increasingly demanding software applications in the future.
Q: Do I have to install matching pairs?
A: No.
No, you can install modules one at a time, and you can mix different densities of modules in your computer. But if your computer supports dual-channel memory configurations, you should install in identical pairs (preferably in kits) for optimal performance.
Q: Does my computer support dual-channel memory?
A: No.
Your system does not support dual channel.
Q: Does my computer support ECC memory?
A: Yes.
Your system supports ECC. You can put non-ECC modules into an ECC system, but be sure not to mix ECC and non-ECC modules within a system. Install the same type of modules that are already in your system.

RAM compatibility with MK79G motherboard

Hi, I am assuming that the original piece of memory was a 256mb ddr pc2700/333mhz ?
i have looked at your board on the product maker website and it supports memory to 2gb of pc2100,pc2700/pc3200 type memory. Be certain however that the new piece added is the same clock speed as the original that you are trying to use with it. You cannot mix clock speeds, either pc will not boot or it will only recognise the compatible piece. Have you tried booting with just the new piece 9 leaving out the older piece)if yes what was the result. Need more help ?? compdoctor2005@btinternet.com

Dimension 2400 is at 1.5MG - will not go to 2.0MG per manual!

yeah thats a normal issue with the dimension 2400 as the older bios only supports a max of 1gb of memory you will need to go to the dell website which ive linked below and get the bios update which will give you support up to 2gb-pc3200 ddr memory

RAM upgrate

you can upgrade to a max of 2gb on that board. These are your 1gb options: 1GB PC2700 333MHz DDR Memory, 1GB PC2100 266MHz DDR Memory, and 1GB PC3200 400MHz Non-ECC Unbuffered 184-pin DDR DIMM Memory. Install a set of any of these and your off and running.
