Have a Ryobi rpw 2400 petrol new never used yet, can't start it. If switch on O,nothing happen. If on 'I' pressure build up and block the motor .Any idea for solution?

The switch is the one you must press to stop the engine. If it is on I position the engine cough but do not start and the water pressure build up to the point that you cannot pull on the cord anymore unless you press the trigger on the lance. If switch on O ,the pressure doe not build up ,but the engine wont start

As it's a new machine, check your operators manual it has a trouble shooting guide. But it sounds like the fuel maybe the problem, do not use old fuel as it deteriorates over time.

SOURCE: no pressure when water trigger pulled

hi i quess that the outletpressure is steering the governor. some valvetypes need a 100 psi for working wel. if there is air in the pump the 100 psi for effective opening and closing will not be reached. take off pressure hose from outlet and connect gardenhose to inlet. there must be waterflow. now you bleed the system connect high pressurehose and try. maybe this wil help. if not valves or pistons can be damaged, and you have to open the pump. goodluck

SOURCE: NO PRessure

Hi It sounds to me like your unloader valve is stuck, this is the thing that is meant to move up and down when pressing the trigger. Please remove the unloader valve assembly and check for damage. If no damage is found then grease and lubricate this part and replace and this should work ok again.

Won't stay running

The biggest problem with any petrol/petroil equipment is the gae of the fuel.
petrol is hrgoscopic, when means that it tends to attract moisture. The biggest problem with petroil equipment is usually where the fuel tank is not drained after use, so when you come to use it the tank apears empty as the petrol has evaporated leaving only the oil which blocks the carburettor and gives a doubly rich mixture. Water in the fuel is usually easy to analyseas when running the equipment will have a really uneven tickover, sort of accelerating and then decellerating as if it's running out of fuel.
As an earlier blog, drain the tank, wash it out, spray quick start into the air intake and she should start and remeber when finished empty the petrol tank into a container specifically for two stroke.

Starting up Ryobi Petrol Strimmer

full choke on , push petrol bubble 5 times then pull starter cord., with luck it will kick in to life after a 20/30 secs put on half choke , run again for 30 secs the no ckoke.

The main problem with Ryobi products is that they flood very very easly. So the more time you try and pump petrol into the carb the more it will flood . If that happenes then choke off and switch off and then just pull starter cord for about 30 secs then switch on and it could start if not prime it again as above good luck

Ryobi Weed Wasp starts but cuts out after 2 to 3 seconds.

Sounds like it is running on the prime. Check the fuel filter in the tank and if it looks clogged or dark, replace it. If that is not it, now is the time to consider a carburetor clean and rebuild, with a replacement of fuel lines and primer bulb. Today's ethenol in gas is murder on small engine soft components.

I have a ryobi chainsaw that floods even if I dont prime it at all when trying to start it.. Before I go to start it the air cleaner is soaked with petrol and when I remove the spark plug it is wet.On...

Ideally saws should be stored in cool conditions out of the sun to prevent pressure building up and with the tank lower than the engine.
Drain the tank also and run the engine dry, as when the fuel evaporates, it leaves a varnish residue which coats the small pasageways in the carburettor.
It is possible that the fuel pump diaphragm in the carburettor is punctured and this is allowing fuel to seep into the saw

RYOBI RBL-30MVA 30cc when pressing the primer bulb to allow petrol thro, nothing happens? and as its not letting the petrol thro, the leaf blower will not start....any suggestions? thanks ben.

The diaphragm in the carb may need to be replaced. Make sure all your fuel lines are fine. On these inexpensive blowers the fuel lines tend to get brittle and crack and fall apart.
