My daughter DS Screen is like a red in colour, how can I get it

Back to normal. The screen works fine but instead of viewing the colours as you normally would they appear redish pink making it difficult to play alot of games. She has been on Pictochat is it something to do with this? Any help much appreciated!!

Theres probably a wire inside the system that is ether defective or not working, or there must be debris or dust inside the system. I would suggest to try to blow air (somehow) inside the system( the R and L buttons are common spots for debris to get it).

Tip

DS Lite Top Screen Replacement

Hi,

Has your top screen devlouped a fault or stopped working altogether? Here is my guide to re-connecting a new top screen and fitting a new one.

Take the DS lite apart (a tri wing screwdriver is needed and can be found cheap on ebay), disconnect the top screen by lifiting the motherboards connector flap (located near the hindge) and then re-insert it, try switching it on again and see if thats sorted it. If not then you will need to replace the screen. (If you need help taking the DS lite apart then check out my other tips and tricks posted on here).

A new screen can be brought on ebay for a reasonable price, there will be a little soldering required as the speakers will need to be de-soldered from the old screen and re-soldered onto the new one (please take note of which wire goes where).

Remove the screws from the lid of the DS lite (4x screws hidden under little coloured squares above and below both speaker outlets) slide the top/outer part away from the hindges, it will move about 5mm and then you can lift it off... Gently pull the ribbon through the hindge so that it is free from the bottom part of the DS lite, pry the screen away from the shell (a small amount of force may be required to remove it) remove the front plastic part of the screen (with the respective DS lite coloured frame, de-solder the speakers, re-attatch them to the new screen, place the new screen into the housing along with the speakers and put back the wifi and mic to their original position if they got moved, you will notice a slot in the hindge where the ribbon goes in, this is for the ribbon to easily slide back into the bottom part of the DS lite... pop the ribbon through and then re-attatch it to the motherboard with the connector, pressing down the connectors flap.

Screw the DS lite back together, after this you will need to place the plastic sheet with the respective DS lite coloured frame back onto the top screen... The reason you don't put it on any time before that is if you put it on prior to putting the new screen in place you will have great difficulty trying to get it correctly aligned.

If you find that your DS lite now doesn't want to stay powered on please refer to my other tips and tricks I have issued on here.

I hope this helps and have to say that I accept no responsability for any damage that may occur to your DS lite when following these tips.

Regards,
SOD69

Coloured pixels on R4 NDS home screen

First, remove your R4. turn on nds. see if the screen shows as normal.. if true, the problem is in the R4 driver. You can download the drivers on the R4 site, and copy to your SD card.

r4 drivers is vary greatly, you can follow the URL address contained in your R4 card. Makesure you have a backup of your SD, before replaced them with new ones.

I hope this help.. Pls post back should you need additional information.

DS lite not working after replacing bottom screen

hi friend,i had the same problem....the small cable that you replaced is probably not placed in the connector properly .when you put it in you might have put it under the connector instead of upon it. retry it ,i'm sure it will work.. good luck

The top screen will need replaced. Not adviseable if you have not worked on such items before. There are people on eBay who will fix it for you.
