Toners are probably low. You can remove them, shake them gently, as sometimes the toner sticks to the inside walls of the toner cart. It sounds like either the cartridges were in storage and settled, or else they weren't full or filled all the way. Replacement cartridges are best purchased from reputable sellers who stand by their products. You may want to contact the seller if the shaking option doesn't work out.
Does the printer ever come to ready? If not, have you recently changed any of the toner cartridges? We have had cases with generic or refilled toners that will cause the printer to not be able to calibrate.
calibrate the printer 5 times ur problem will be resolved if not then cold reset the printer.for cold reset switch on the printer & press the green button before counting the memory when all three lights glow at a time then release the button & select the cold reset option by up-down arrow then enter ur problem will be resolved..............
Open the toner cover remove the toners then shine a torch where the toners push into the printer, from what a remember on the right hand side the black plastic breaks and you should find little pieces stopping the toners from seating properly in the printer. You will also see a wire contact hanging from each broken toner seat. Once you remove the broken bits of plastic and reseated your toners the printer should work as normal. HP have produced a mod for this problem but to be honest the printer should carry on working fine without it, there is nothing to worry about the dangling wires as the toners are earthed from the other side.
If you drop down the door to the toners & remove the toners that the machine says are not engaged. Now look on the right side where the toners are suppose to slide in, more then likely with this model you will find a small black plastic piece that is loose in the slot. you may need a needle nose pliers to remove it. (these pieces are remnants of an old cartridge) once removed, pop the toners back in and whala!! Hope this helps you out and if it does, please mark as a fixya...thanks Dan
Are you using generic toners or HP branded? Try to reseat the yellow toner. The page counter can't be reset and should not be. This unit uses chips to recognize the toner level. Generic toners don't always have good chips on them.
