Question about Freezers

2 Answers

On my Servis M0330W 50/50 upright fridge/freezer, above the fridge door at the top front, there is 3 light panels, 1st left is a green to indicate power (I believe), middle is a red triangle (which is flashing), on left is a clear panel with a snow flake beside it, but no light visable, the unit is intermitantly running (although at this time I can't say if either unit is getting cold), any ideas as to the problem please

I have the same problem on my Servis m0330s. Surprisingly, freezer is ok but fridge is not cooling. I checked the motor out of the unit and it runs well on 240v but in-situ, it just about turns and is pulsating (speed varies). Checked voltage and that is also pulsating (going up/down, not constant 240v). Can't find a wiring diagram but suspect someting is dragging down the voltage? The lights in the front are also pulsating and sometimes, so does the relay and the inside light when the door is opened.

You need to replace this pc board, your unit seems to be short cycling because of a fault on the defrost side of the board.

    1. Make sure that the fanmotor is working and you have good airflow through the cabinet, you will have to press the lever switch which is closed when the door closes or the fan will not come on.

    2. If the fanmotor is working fine, I would need to know if there is any cooling happening in either the freezer or the fridge side.

    3. Check that the compressor (black dome object at rear of unit) is actually running.

    4. If compressor is running, feel if the thin tube coming out of the comp is hot. Following it you will see it enter the cabinet and then return to a small cylindrical copper thing which is called a drier, the drier should be slightly warm. It then goes into a very thin capilliary tube. This should feel normal temp, no cold feeling.

    5. If your compressor is running and you are not getting cooling, there is very likely an intermittent blockage in the refrigeration system which can lead to compressor failure due to high head pressure. This would mean getting a repair guy to cut the tubes and test the compressor for pumping performance. The compressor is more than likely ok and he would need to flush the system with a solution to disolve the blockage. and then put it all together again. good luck and hope you come right

How do I level my domestic kelvinator fridge . the floor seems to be level . I recently relocated to Cairns

the front feet under the door opening are adjustable screws. You may have to use a shifter to get them to move as they mat be rusted . adjust so the fridge slopes slightly to the rear. This keeps any moisture on the back wall to drain out the hole and the door will close if left open

Frigidaire upright freezer door will not seal

Hi Chris, this is AP! Thank you for your post.

I understand you are having trouble with the door sealing on your upright freezer. Many times this can be caused by the freezer not being leveled. If the freezer is not leveled during installation, the door may be misaligned and not close or seal properly, causing cooling, frost, or moisture problems. To level your upright freezer use a carpenter's level to level the freezer from front-to-back. Adjust the plastic leveling feet in front, 1/2 bubble higher, so that the door closes easily when left halfway open. I hope this information has been helpful.

Servis fridge freezer

Hi ,
ngafm at your service,
If its cold and frozen it may be that the door switch that activates this light in the case that the door is ajar, is faulty.
Or it may be that the temperature is dropping to slowly for you to see it by eye!
The whole purpose of the, "door ajar" light is to protect you food from spoilage and to warn you before it gets to warm!
Door ajar or not!!!
My advice is to fix the problem now no matter if it is only the switch causing a false alarm.
Or the worst case scenario !

You need hands on service!
Bless You ,
please give me a good rating before you sign off.
Thank you.

Upright Frigidaire Freezer

The Amber light is the Power 'On' indicator. The Red light is a Temperature Alarm indicator. THe Red light comes on if the freezer compartment rises above 20 degrees F (for example a freezer malfunction or someone left the door open). You also probably have a rocker switch (or two holes that are over a rocker switch) that is in between these two indicators. If you do, that's an audible (loud buzzer) alarm when the red light comes on. The rocker switch is a simple on-off switch to silence the alarm or turn it back on.

Servis fridge freezer

It may be that the temperature of the unit is not yet up to temp. The flashing light will indicate this.Warning the user the unit is not ready,or up to safe temp.. Let the unit run to catch up,since you just started it.
