Question about Acer (D10709-002) (D10709002) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

I have an Acer Aspire One and the wireless was working fine. The a pop-up window started coming up asking if I wanted to connect to the wireless. I kept saying yes and was fine. Then I decided to click the - Do not repeat this request - box. Now, whenever I try and connect to the wireless, it says the system is disconnected. What should I do?

Have you installed the necessary drivers for the wireless adapters? If yes, please check in the Network Connections if the wireless connection is enabled or disabled. Also, check if there are other programs using the wireless connection like Realtek Wireless LAN Utility.

Hello mccree08,

The installed network adapters can be viewed in the windows device manager which can be accessed through the windows control panel as follows:

•Opening the Control Panel
The Windows Control Panel can be opened by:
Selecting Start > Control Panel (on Windows Vista)
- OR -
Start > Run > Type 'Control' and select OK (on Windows XP)

•In the Control Panel, Select Device Manager

•In Device Manager, Select 'Network Adapters'

The netgear wpn 511 adapter will appear there if it is correctly installed.

If this solution is helpful please click 'YES' by 'Was this helpful?' below.

Have a great day,

Aspire 3000 laptop

Normally you setup a passkey or use 0000 or 9999 as a passkey.

The question is, does that pop up when you try to connect a USB device? Do you get that when you try to install the dongle? (That shouldn't happen). If you are trying to connect a PDA or cell phone, you setup the passkey for the connecting device on the computer then type it in to the PDA or mobile phone. If you are trying to connect a bluetooth headset, then you use whatever code is from the manufactorer. Normally this is 0000 or 9999.

Hope this helps!
