You sure want to do that? thats not the easyest thing to do in a laptop?

Well well...remove the battry, remove the HDD then revome all the screws under the laptop. Carrefull drag the topshell for the bottomshell, be carefull, there are short cables inside that needs to be unconncted from the mobo while pulling the shells apart..

I have a G320 laptop with 512 SO-DIMM DDR400 and 1 GhZ procesor ,OS WIN XP, how can I run my G320 faster

Hi,
There is nothing much that can be done to speed up the system as it can not go beyond 1GHz Processing speed, but several operating system tweaks and some hardware upgrade could make a little but notable difference.
As for Hardware, you may increase the RAM. You can upgrade memory on ECS Elitegroup Computer G320 upto a maximum of 1.0 GB (The ECS Elitegroup Computer G320 takes the PC2100 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory)
Secondly, You may increase the size of PAGE FILE, uninstall unwanted software, Remove unwanted start-up items, Clean Junk Files/ Temporary files, De-fragment the Hard Disk to achieve the maximum speed and performance that EliteGroup G320 PC can give.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Ecs elitegroup motherboard driver

The ECS elitegroup download site is here:

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/Downloads_Resources.aspx?menuid=60&TYPEID=1&childid=M_60&LanID=0

Just type in the mainboard number and search for your driver.

Download this and install the program:

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Choose the english setup.

It will tell what name and number your mainboard has
you don`t have to open the case.

Hope this will help you.

My elitegroup laptop was no power at all, then the pin positive is shorted to pin negative

DC Jack diagnosis:
1. Test power adapter for output voltage. Bend the power cable in various directions while doing this to be sure that there is no broken conductors in the cable.
2. If power adapter is Ok, connect it & see if the power LED on the laptop will glow when you jiggle the power connector in various directions. If yes, then the DC jack might be loose or damaged, & need to be either re-soldered or replaced.
3. If not, then disassemble the laptop. Remove any components that attach to the laptop's motherboard first (e.g. battery, hard drive, RAM, wireless card, optical drive, ... etc.)
4. Next, remove the keyboard & the LCD screen.
5. Finally, unscrew all screws that hold the upper cover & lower cover together so that you could gain access to the motherboard.
6. Inspect the solder points connecting the DC jack to the motherboard. Make sure that none of them is loose. If any, re-solder them.
7. Inspect the center pin in the DC jack. Make sure that it is not broken or loose. If it is, then you might need to replace the DC jack.
8. When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop.
