You can get a recover disk here.

http://www.myrecoverycds.com/toshibaSets.html

This would bring your laptop back to the factory settings.

My laptop apparently has a virus. I lost all network connections, right down to the set-up new connection. I cannot access System Restore and I download anti-virus programs on to an external drive thinking...

You must do a complete restore if you have all of your files backed up. Try and back up your files before hand if possible. Refer to the manual or company's site for instructions on how to do this.

Hi,

To restore the computer to factory settings, you can use the hidden recovery partition in the computer. Please restart and press and hold the F10 key to access the recovery partition. From the recovery tools window, please select "Restore C Drive" to get back the factory installed settings in the computer.

Thanks!!!!

First off all check the Internet connection make sure that connected. After that click file then make sure the work offline is not selected. After that if not working then follow this.
please follow the steps.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools.
3. Click Internet Option.
4. Delete History, Temporary file.
5. apply & ok.
6. Click File & unmark Work Offline.
7. Close the Internet Explorer.
8. Open Internet Explorer.

If not done then you have to reset the factory setting because the Internet explorer may corrupt.
1 Ensure all Data is backed up, all data will be deleted.
2 Please also ensure that all USB storage devices are removed before starting the recovery process
3 Restart machine
4 When your unit switches back on, wait for the ACER screen then hold down alt & tap f10 repeatedly..
5 Please wait a moment until prompted, -How would you like to restore?-
6 Please select –Restore system to factory default-
7 Enter your defined password or enter six zeros ‘000000’
8 Click ok
9 Please wait until process completed, this will take 45min – 1hour
ALL personal information on the C: Drive I.E photos, programs, music and documents will be wiped when the above steps are taken.

How do i restore factory settings

Most major corruption of the operating system usually requires factory image restoration. The steps below mostly apply's to most Dell systems specially Dell Inspiron Laptop. A note of caution though, the following process will wipe out all the data on your hard drive, so please consider backing up if you have important data on the hard drive.
Here's what you need to do:
1. Turn your computer off.2. Disconnect any external devices such as mouse, usb drives, internet cable, port replicators, etc.3. Turn your the computer on, as soon as you see the Dell logo, press and hold down Ctrl, while holding down Ctrl, tap or press F11 several times.4. Once booted to the recovery environment, follow the onscreen instruction in restoring to factory setting.
Hope this will help.
Regards,
Mel

Acer one notebook not connecting to internet

Hi Kat,

Ok, firstly i would recommend restoring all back to factory settings as it would appear that this a a configuration problem and that should fix it as i believe there is no personal or data to be backed up as yet.IF there is, simply back it up to a thumb drive.

To restore to factory settings(Like it has just come out of the box basicly) When the laptop starts up hold down ALT and keep pressing F10.

A screen should appear with configuration settings and an option to system restore.

Select system restore and it should have prompts from there.

Wireless internet is not working after restoring factory settings

Oh, wireless Internet? You restored it? Did you install a different operating system? Or had you installed one before resetting? A change of OS may result in the deletion of particular drivers.

Go to the manufacturer's website. There, search for your model's support and download the drivers you want, for instance, the wireless network adapter drivers. Also, check your sound.
