Sorry, I see it's XP. Just do a Manual Windows/Microsoft update online (Start, All Programs, Windows/Microsoft Update), Choose "Custome" and not "Express", then after you jump through a few hoops you will get to a screen that allows you to select additional "Software" and "Hardware" updates and check them to see if your "Audio Device", and if it's there check mark the box by it and select " Install Updated" and let it do it's thing, you'll have to reboot after the driver update is done and if the correct driver update was installed you should be Fixed?
If the update didn't pick up your hardware? Give us the information that Johncaman and I requested and we can fix you up that way.
Good luck.

Computer audio output device not install

Hello.... This is a generic issue with all Windows OS updates....many of the users are facing this issue....this issue began after an auto update from MS changed many IRQs of Win OS, mainly the Sound and Audio Control system of Windows.
1 - R U facing NO Audio / No Sound issue...?
2 - Is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - Is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

If ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....as ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....

NOTE..THIS…IS…VERY..IMPORTANT...
No file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…or giving any help on this.
Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just doing FREE service to help everyone affected by this stupidity from Microsoft.
www.sureshayyar.110mb.com
visit my Support Page.

many of us are victim of this “stupid” update, my office has 24 PC/Notebooks and almost all of them got this issue one by one in 4 months time period, I head the tech dept here.
all the best...
Kindly leave a feedback/rating to this solution as it will help me understand if my solution worked

2.1 SPEAKERS NO SOUND. CONTROL PANEL DOESN'T RECOGNIZE ANY AUDIO DEVICE & CANNOT ADJUST SPEAKER VOLUME.HAVE NEVER HAD SPEAKERS HOOKED UP BEFORE.

> CONTROL PANEL DOESN'T RECOGNIZE ANY AUDIO DEVICE

That's your problem. It could be:

* the audio-device integrated on your computer's motherboard is "disabled" -- Windows cannot use it

* there is *NO* audio-device integrated on your computer's motherboard -- Windows cannot use non-existent hardware.

* Windows has not installed the correct device-drivers for the integrated audio-device.

* you have an add-in PCI audio-device, and Windows has not installed the correct device-drivers for this hardware.

Do the speakers work if the output from an iPod is connected to the input-jack on the speakers?

Do the speakers work if connected to some other computer (laptop or desktop) ?

I have no sound coming from my speakers , it s telling me I have no audio output device is installed.Everything is plugged in .

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click System
Click the Properties tab
Click Device Manager
Expand the "audio" branch of the tree.
Do you see an audio-device? Probably not.
Do you see an "Unknown Devices" branch of the tree?
If so, expand that branch, and double-click the "unknown" device.
Click "Reinstall Driver".
If asked whether you want to search the Internet for the software-driver, click "Yes".
Windows will install the drivers for the "audio device".

No audio output device is installed, how do I put it in?? MAG monitor, Compace tower..

Depends on what operating system you are using. If you are using Windows Xp and above. You can try going into add remove hardware. Try adding a new hardware from list. When you can try reinstalling the windows audio driver. This has worked for me numerous times. Try this step
My computer
-Control panel ( use classic veiw)
-- Add Hardware
--- Click Yes
---- Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select add a new hardware device
----- install from a list 2nd option
------ click on sound video and game controllers
------- Try the Aztech systems and use the first option on the right hand window.
then click next until you are able to install it. It should work after that.
Best of Luck

My compaq speakers are not working

If you are using Windows Xp ,then go to

Startmenu->Control panel->click:sound and audio devices
A window should open.
If you see anywhere in the window, written ,
"no audio devices installed",
then you need to install the sound driver .
