Question about Brother BRTPT65 PT-65 Label Maker Printer

1 Answer

Every time I type up a lable, the black underline is beneath.

I used the underline for one word and now I cannot clear it, unfortunately, my manual was mistakenly tossed out.

Which button do I use to clear it, Staples Business Depot suggest
I google "Brother" and look for a manual. I even tried BS which that did not help, or is there another button I use to hold down and then clear the black underline?

I hope you can help, very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Deborah

Can Cymo lables be used in the Smart Label Printer 100

If you mean Dymo labels and if the Dymo labels have a black rectangle on the reverse and if the labels aren't to wide, then the labels should work. You may run into problems with the Label printer advancing too far after printing; unfortunately, you will have to manually re-align the label after printing

Can't get underline score off

The last is a procedure to RESET the device to factory defaults.

If the problem is underscore the do then I would suggest following the procedure for activating it in the hopes that it will turn it off.
Click the (symbol) key > when you see “A-I?” click the letter “ I ” > then use the right arrow key to select the underscore symbol > click enter (left facing arrow with it’s tail facing up at 90 degrees)

If the problem is underline setting being on then follow the steps to activate underline in the hopes that it will turn it off:
-Press the “Function” key
-use left and right arrow keys to toggle between options until you see “UNDL/FRM
-Then press either “FUNCTION” or the “Enter Key”
-AT ANYTIME YOU CAN PRESS “B5” to cancel out without making any changes. **Note: the “B5” key also says “clear” beside it.

All memory is lost in this unit if batteries are removed for long enough.

You can use a special RESET code which deletes all memory from the unit. The procedure is a follows:

1)Turn off the machine
2) Hold down “CODE” and “B5” at the same time. While pressing the “ON/OFF” button once.
3) Once the Machine turns back on, THEN AND ONLY THEN release the “CODE” and “B5” buttons.

Printing Labels

The MPF is simply the "Manual Paper Feed".
Your printer is set by default that the MPF paper type is "plain paper". Since you are telling the printer that you are trying to print lables, the printer is simply telling you that you need to load the MPF with lables.

If you say "ok", the printer sould continue and print the lables.

If you only print lables, the you can change the default paper for the MPF tray to "lables", and then you will no longer be prompted to load the tray.

Canon MP830 - extreme ink useage

According to a service manual for a similar Canon printer, the grayscale printing should only use the Pigment Black ink PGI-5BK.

On fast it is 300x300dpi with 1 pass, standard is 600x600dpi with 1 pass and high is 600x600 with 4 passes.

On plain paper in colour it is meant to still only use the C/M/Y and again the big pigment black ink PGI-5BK, it only uses the smaller black ink once you set it to use a photo type paper in the printing settings.
