Check out your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean(ref manual). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Some connect to sink, fine. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Your filter is where the big tube ends from the main tub. If the above fails, check to see if your pump is blocked.

there's a couple of problems that can cause this, take it apart and get to the door latch assy.top center of opening where the door latches.after you remove the front panel leave the door in place, lock the door and put it into spin, check the wax motor to make sure it's pushing all the way over, you can push on it when it stops to see if it didn't move all the way over, when you push on it and if it goes into high spin change the wax motor part number 22002119.next there's a micro switch to the right of the wax motor,if this is bad it won't go into high spin, door lock spin enable switch part number 22002162,you can pull it out, click it in and out and check it with a meter.if it feels funny or not clicking all the time when pushing the plundger in and out replace it.if that feels good theres an inertia switch part number 22003302.you have to remove the right side of the boot to get at this switch.it's on the right side of the tub near the top,it's a little tricky to get at it,the screws that hold it on are 1/4 inch, you can use a nut driver just stick some plumbers putty or permagum in the socket so the screw won't fall out when you remove it and put it back or a magnet head works great.these are the things to check,do them in the order i gave you and hopefully it will be the micro switch, changing out the inertia switch is a little time consuming.remove the screws that hold the door on and remove the other two phillips screws on the other side, pull off the front panel but leave the door in place, once you get into here you'll see how to get to the top door latch parts.here's a video so you can see the parts i'm talking about, you'll see the wax motor and the micro switch, not the switch above the wax motor it's the switch to the right that will cause the washer from going into high spin,if that's good it will be the inertia switch, just remove the right side of the boot to get at it.good luck, just take your time and it will get done.

Maytag Neptune Front Load Washers No Spin Problem

A class suit was filed in the State of Illinois, USA and then later on won against Maytag in 2004 due to the high failure rate of the wax motor used in the door lock mechanism of their Neptune Front Load Washers. The wax motor is used to activate the door lock switch by extending its shaft when a voltage from the machine control is applied across its terminals. Its failure then leads to the breaking down of components in the expensive machine control board. This is the fact that angered the customers which led to the filing of the class suit.

The obvious symptom of a failed wax motor is the inability of the washer to advance to the spin cycle and the door lock lamp is not turned on. The washer stops momentarily at the end of the wash cycle then continue to tumble as the machine control checks the activation of the door lock switch. The control will not allow a spin speed higher than 51 revolutions per minute (RPM) unless the door lock switch is activated by the wax motor. It is a safety feature of the washer to prevent accident due to accidental opening of the washer door during a high speed spin.

Customers who purchased the Neptune Front Load Washers in the USA after April 1, 1997 and before August 9, 2004 are Class members and eligible for the repair reimbursement, replacement cost, or purchase certificate depending on the length of service of the machine. Call up Maytag at 1-888-MAYTAG (1-888-629824) for more information.

The models included in the class suit are as follows: MLE2000AYW, MLE2000AWW, MLE2000AZW, MLG2000AWW (Gas Stack Unit), MAH3000AAW, MAH3000AEW, MAH3000AGW, MAH3000AWA, MAH3000AWW, MAH3000BGW, MAH4000AWW, MAH4000BWW, MAH4000AWQ, MAH4000BWQ, MAH5500AWW, MAH5500BWW, MAH5500BWW, MAH5500BWQ, MAH55FLBWW, MAH55FLBWQ, MAH6500AWW, MAH6500AWQ, MAH7500AWW, MAH7500AWQ, MAH7550AAW, MAH7550AGW.

No high speed spin

could be the door latch, there is a wax motor in it that closes just for the high spin, if the computer (board) doesnt get that signal it won't go into high spin

Im having trouble with my maytag neptune tl washer it wont finish the spin cycle

Please see the following Whirlpool / Maytag service manual for Neptune washers.
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/dc59d905140253e18525729c005765f4/$FILE/Maytag_Neptune_Washer.pdf

On page 3-1 the manual explains that if the washer shuts off during the spin cycle, the problem points to a weak spring in the door lock mechanism.

"Shuts OFF In The Middle Of The Spin Cycle:
During the spin cycle, the machine control
monitors the door lock mechanism to ensure
the door is locked. This is done through the
door lock enable switch. During "lock mode,"
the shaft of the door lock mechanism is
pressed forward by the door lock wax motor,
and the shaft presses in the button of the door
lock enable switch. If the machine control
board sees the switch OPEN during the spin
cycle, the machine control board will automatically
shut the washer OFF. This is caused
by a weak spring in the door lock wax motor.
Replace the complete door lock mechanism.

My washer wont do the spin cycle. everything else work fine but no spin

Hi,
The reason the washer won’t spin is due to the either of the latches on the door.
This model uses a two stage lock that latches the door when the load starts, and then when it is time to spin, the second lock engages to ensure the door is properly secured prior to beginning the spin. When this second lock engages, it also closes a set of switch contacts (the auxiliary door switch) telling the control board the door is closed and locked. If for some reason this switch is not closed, the washer will tumble during what would normally be the spin cycle until the entire cycle is complete.
On the entire Frigidaire ATFxxxxxxx line of front load washers, if the secondary door lock fails, the unit will not spin. If you suspect this is the reason your washer is not spinning, do a check of the error log and you will find an E47 error has been logged. This error indicates the control board thinks the wax motor has failed because the auxiliary switch never closed. The customer will not see this error in the display, but it will be stored in memory. A quick resistance check of the wax motor will tell you if it has failed. Expect 1K to 1.5K of resistance from most of the wax motor heaters.

After finding the E47 error stored in memory, I would request you that the switch be removed from the outer door seal spring so you could pull the switch out the front. A quick resistance check showed the wax motor was open electrically so it was no longer working. Install a new switch assembly
, reattached all the wires along with the door seal. And now the washer will wash and spin.

Thank You for using Fixya.com

Maytag neptune washer MAH-1 start button turns off, does not spin

Hi!

Is it pumping water? If not then pump is bad.
Is the door locking? If the door will not lock, the washer will not enter a spin mode. See if the lock light is lite on the console.

Check for continuity across the Door Lock, Spin Enable Switch when the switch actuator button is pressed in. If there is no continuity across the Door Lock, Spin Enable Switch, replace the Door Lock Switch Assembly.(Check for 120 vac across the Door Lock Wax Motor)

Please rate this solution and ask for further clarifications if needed.

Thanks
Rylee
