The bubble sound sounds like its coming from the compresser and not the seal??? but I will look into more. I don't want the vacuum to be any less the what it is now.

  • michael449 Mar 12, 2009

If that is the case then what is my best way to stop the bubbling sound will this cause the freezer to have trouble in the future? The store told me that they will replace the freezer for free I only had it less then one month. But what if the new one does the same thing?

  • michael449 Mar 12, 2009

Okay so how do I fix the sound? The store is sending me a new freezer because this one is only 1 month old. But what if it happens again what do I do? Will that bubbling sound cause trouble in the future? Will I need to repair or replace any parts etc.....?

There is a vacuum build up in the freezer compartment when you close the door. This can make the door difficult to open. You can overcome this by sticking a small lollipop stick to the bottom part of the door gasket. This will act as a vacuum breaker.

I am not sure what part of this advise you find inappropriate? This is a very real solution which is used by many technicians as a vacuum breaker. Some cabinets have a very strong seal and you can actually hear the vacuum being pulled when the door closes. The bubble sound is very often caused by the plastic walls of the cabinet being drawn away from the polyurethane instulation.

Sorry, but hope this clarifies my information.

Thanks for clarifying. The bubbling sound from the compressor is mostly from refrigerant returning to the compressor. It is possible that the unit is slightly overcharged and that liquid is returning to the compressor and mixing with the oil and then causing a bubbling sound. An overcharge would also show by exessive condensate forming on the return copper tubing as it enters the compressor and even in extreme situation frost forms on this tube.

If the store is replacing the unit it is very unlikely that the replacement unit will have the same symptoms as each unit could never be charged exactly the same. I would not worry about it.

Frigidaire upright freezer door will not seal

Hi Chris, this is AP! Thank you for your post.

I understand you are having trouble with the door sealing on your upright freezer. Many times this can be caused by the freezer not being leveled. If the freezer is not leveled during installation, the door may be misaligned and not close or seal properly, causing cooling, frost, or moisture problems. To level your upright freezer use a carpenter's level to level the freezer from front-to-back. Adjust the plastic leveling feet in front, 1/2 bubble higher, so that the door closes easily when left halfway open. I hope this information has been helpful.

This is normal when compressor starts u can hear some gurgling from evap. from feron flowing. If you hear gurgling only when you close the door it's water in drain pan when you close the door air is forced down drain tube blowing air into water.

I hear a popping/clicking type noise from the freezer and I don't think the fan is coming on. It doesn't have an ice maker. The contents are still frozen each day, but I notice a thin layer of frost on...

if temps are still good, with settings at normal, that popping noise you hear is likely the resulting temperature change when the defrost heater comes on. when its in defrost, you may hear the clicking of the defrost timer, which you wouldnt normally hear when the unit runs.
You say there is a thin layer of frost on certain items, where are these items located in your freezer? are they near the top, the bottom, the back, the front, combination thereof? Are you having any problems with the door not closing well? check your door gaskets, are there any tears, rips or gaps. if you place a dollar bill between gasket and frame, does the bill move, ON ITS OWN. Of course you will be able to move the bill, but if you close the door on the bill and it falls out or shifts position by itself, you have a seal problem. Do you have too much food inside the unit? If you only noticed the frost recently, perhaps you cleaned it out and something is obstructing door from closing completely, on its own. Or if you went shopping, perhaps you bought just a little too much food. check the bottom drawer if yours has one, is it pushed all the way in?

Not sucking out air when door closes anymore

run your hand around the freezer gasket with the freezer closed slowly and see if you feel any cold air, also check corners they leak to,frost is caused by warm air getting into the freezer or the defrost system is failing, let me know what you find-mike

FREEZER SOUNDS VERY NOISY

that because the internal fan is hiting the ice or has bad bushings you can hear the noise just with the door close because when you open the door there is a switch the one turns off the internal fan so when you close the door it turn on the fan again if you wants to hear that with the door open just open the door and push the botton swich with your fingers and you'll hear the noise
