Great thanks a lot I shall try doing that when I get back home this evening. Was it really that simple?

Thanks again, I will let you know the outcome but sounds as though it should work if you are runnung same. So this means my ink consumption is going to go up. With a digital grahics mad 18 year old son its already high.

    Hi John,

Bryan back here. Finally managed to get a minute to try the setup and have succeeded in getting one laptop to print through the network printer, but not the other. I can see and select the printer from the laptop, even send the print-job so that on the printer properties box it indicates that it is printing, but then it gets an error!! Any ideas?

You have to make sure you go to Control Panel/Printers, right click on the printer in the list and click 'Properties' - go to the sharing tab, select 'Share this printer', give it a name, and click OK. Then go to Printers on each of the laptops, select 'Add a printer', then 'Network printer', then 'Browse for printers'. You should be able to see the printer. If all the computers use the same operating system, you're good, otherwise, when you first share the printer, you may want to install additional drivers from the cd to support the different operating systems - alternately, you'll have to install the drivers for the printer on each computer.

Please rate if this helps :)

It should be - sometimes the remote computers have problems seeing the printer - if that happens, let me know and we'll work on it... I'm actually running the exact same type of setup here, 1 desktop with a printer, 2 wireless laptops and 1 wireless desktop using that printer also. We buy lots of ink. :)

Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. How do i conect another laptop to wireless

You need to know the password for your wireless signal. If you do know it, use the second laptop to search for your wireless name. Click on your wireless signal, and click join or connect. When prompted, type in your wireless password. If you don't know your wireless password, you are going to have to reset your router. Instructions on how to do that are here:http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48/~/performing-a-hardware-reset-on-the-router.
Then you will have to connect a ethernet cable between the router and a laptop to access the router's menu to create a new wireless name and password. Open your web browser (like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and go to the address Http://192.168.1.1 The password should be blank.

I am trying to do a wireless connection to a windows98 computer to a belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO router. Is this possible?

YES, but you've got to make sure the router is setup for a mixed signal (B and G).

I don't believe when Win98 was around there was a "G" signal released yet ;)

My beklin wireless g+mimo router will not work with my cannon pixma mx860 copier scanner printer fax. I'm setting up the printer to connect to a wireless access point using WPS. any suggestions? printer...

The printer is usually discovered by the computer, not the other way round.
Use Windows explorer, networks to discover it.
1. Make sure file and printer sharing for networks is enabled on networking part of the control panel for Windows.
2. Make sure the appropriate protocol has been set up ie TCIP and that the printer has an IP address in the range recognised by the router.
3. Make sure the printer is in the same workgroup under windows.

The wireless network is being picked up by the laptops in the house, but there is no internet connection between the modem and the router. MY router is a Belkin G Wireless

if you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

the printer and Wii may not recognise WPA security type. change the security type to 64bit WEP. in ur router u'll have WPS(wi fi protected set up) , u need to disable it. this will make ur printer and Wii work.

No wireless connection

You need to have an Internet Service Provider. You connect the router to a modem from the cable Service Provider or through the phone line for BT. Then you can connect wired or wirelessly to internet through the router.

If you describe your set up in detail and tell me the Internet Service Provider I may be able to help more....
