It seems it is going into protection mode....

Please disconnect all speaker, input wires and unplug the AVR from the mains. Wait 5 minutes and restart without connecting any cables.

If it starts , you are lucky. You might be required to reset the microprocess, if any.

Now unplug and start connecting the wires. Please ensure that you are not touching the wires with the AVR or with each other.
Hope fully .... you will be able to enjoy your HT.

How do I connect my TV (JVC model# EM28T) to my stereo receiver (Harmon Kardan model #HK3470).

U are connected properly - BUT it appears there is no output from your tv audio jacks to drive your HK amplifier. Ordinarily those outputs on a set are always hot but you might want to check your tv manual to see if there is a switch on them.

Does the Harmon kardan avr25 have an hdmi output

Nope. You get one component OUTPUT (monitor) and two component INPUTS (Vid 2/DVD) but no HDMI video output.

If you can input and switch HDMI video directly at your display from your cable/SAT etc. you should be fine, just run all the audio through the AVR-25 through the coaxial/optical digital inputs, L/R analog RCA or the 5.1 direct inputs.

I have a harmon kardan and the sound keeps going out on it is this a common problem with this unit?

I have never had a problem with my Harmon Kardon HD deck...and I have wrecked the bike twice. You might want to go and take off the fairing and check the speaker connections and the harness that goes to the back of the stereo unit. Other than that I have no idea. The day I bought my 08 FLHX I zipped tied all the electrical connection inside the bat fairing for better support...and to keep all that **** from ratteling around...annoying.

if the humming sound is in the tv or sound system you will have to check wiring connections and ground wires.
If the humming comes from the dvd player clean optical head with a dvd lens cleaner disk

Hey SteveLah, I have the same problem - looked in manual - that means it needs service - spoke to Harmon Kardon - the only place that is still set up to potentially fix this problem is in California - I am in NY - apparently a certain kind of jig is needed and no one else has anymore....I am going to call the place in California back to see what they charge - but I am afraid the whole thing could cost a bunch - but I love this machine.
