Question about LG W2252TQ Monitor

Scrolling lines on monitor

I am having a problem with my monitor. When I first bought it the monitor worked fine with no problems whatsoever. Then I did a clean install of windows and noticed that when the screen is dark or has dark colors on it, there is a visible vertical scrolling on the monitor. It is not noticeable on white screens or lighter colors but incredibly annoying on dark backgrounds. I changed nothing from my setup and have even updated my video card since then - ATI Radeon HD 4850. The video card driver is updated and I still cannot fix the problem. The only way that I can get it to go away is to change the resolution lower with a different refresh rate. The problem only occurs in the native 1680x1050 resolution at 60Hz refresh rate. I have even tried forcing it to use a different refresh rate but 1680x1050 only supports the 60Hz refresh. Is there a way to fix this....i have tried EVERYTHING

Weird... if there's still warranty on the monitor see if you can get it fixed or replaced with a new one.

Grey Wavy Lines On My Monitor

First of all, try using a different monitor cable. If the problem is still present, make sure that your monitor's image is correctly adjusted. Most monitors provide an 'auto adjust' function. This page can help you find out whether your monitor's clock and phase are correctly adjusted:

It also provides different test images that can help you with locating your problem.
Hope is helps, cheers.

My computer was put in the ship and worked fine before it was left there. All of a sudden now, the monitor has the green lines running all thru it that seem to get worse as I scroll up and down, and when...

Well ... it was a great typo!!! thanks for letting me have a little smile. I wish my typos were that good.

I think were I you, id be taking it back and asking them why the green lines.

...that was retty good though, you must agree, on a ship ... green lines? It is funny to this sea sick sailor anyway.

Scrolling colored lines on the monitor, overlaying the screen.

You either have extremely screwy drivers, a bad cable or your monitor/panel is shot. Replace any of the above to resolve the issue.

Scrolling lines

If you can unplug the monitor or plug into another computer and expierience the same problem then it is probably your display cable (inside your monitor) that needs to be replaced.

I would look on ebay to try and find the part and then take it to a local tech to replace it for you as I would not recommend anyone take apart a monitor (LCD OR CRT) if you had never done so before.

OR, Buy a new monitor.

Screen refresh is "jerky" when scrolling

The refresh rate for LCDs is 60 MHZ, your problem is very likly a video card driver issue. Unless you've changed the cards you should be able to download the correct driver direct from support.dell.com.
