Question about Denon AVR 3808Ci Receiver
Connection/configuration issue: I have a Denon AVR-3808 receiver, DVD-1800BD DVD Player and a Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD/VHS Recorder. The 1800BD is connected to the 3808's HDMI DVD-in. The EZ47V is connected to the 3808's HDMI DVR-in and its input is connected to the 3808's DVR S-Video and L/R Audio outs.
I want to play a DVD on the 1800BD while recording (copying) it on the EZ47V burner. I select DVD as the input and start recording on the burner. The DVD does play properly on the monitor and speakers,. When I switch input source to the DVR and play back the DVD I just burned, I find it has recorded input from the TUNER.
I don't find any settings that seem they would give this result, and my connections appear to be correct. Please advise.
Just confirming my understanding of your connections :
1). The DVD1800BD output HDMI is connected to AVR3808's DVD-in HDMI.
2). The DVD/VHS recorder output HDMI is connected to AVR3808's DVR-in HDMI.
3). The DVD/VHS recorder input (S-video and L/R Audio) is connected to AVR3808's DVR-out(SVideo and L/R Audio).
What other inputs have been connect to your AVR3808?
Does the recorder have Component Video inputs?
Please also connect DVD1800BD's output(Component video, S-Video and L/R Audio) to AVR3808s' DVD-in similar inputs and try recording onto your recorder.
Actually, its possible that you may be having a HDMI HDCP communication issue(High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) with the source product (DVD1800BD). First check with the source equipment manufacturer for any updates to their products.
If HDMI video is not passing through your AVR3808, you can connect it thru the alternate connection method I have mentioned above.
If the connections/recording still does not happen with the added anolog cables, then let me know , we can trouble shoot it further.
I hope the above helps.
