I held down the back button

And when i did it just says the device can perform faster and when i go to repair it it doesnt it says somehting about the firmware but i have everything updated

    its not a go gear its a Magnavox 2B MSA2025 MP3 player

    ok i uninstalled the device manager from the cd and installed the one from the website its doing the same thing the only thing that comes up on the device manager is the repair option it says "a error has been reported on your device" the i repair it that doesnt work.The only time i can the the update option is when the MP3 player doesnt appear on the device manager and my computer still doesnt recognize the mp3 player even when the device manager does

I did the updates and it erased all my information on the device including all the programing. Is there a way to reload the go gear programing?

If it says "your firmware is up to date," then you are good to go.

If it says, "Firmware cannot be updated," then you are still good to go.

The device performance window is a Windows-related function that will do nothing whatsoever to spped up your Philips Go Gear.

The back button triggerred the Repair function. As long as you don't have a problem with your player, then you are fine. If you were trying to repair your GoGear, and it said "Failed to Update Firmware," then either: a)you are not connected to the internet, or b) your Go Gear is toast and needs to be repalced. Call Philips and fins out if you are still in warranty.

    Aha! A Magnavox - you can still go to Philips' website, since they are the same company, or you can go to www.m4c.magnavox.com



    Enter your model #

    Go to the page for your model

    Click on Software & Drivers - get the latest "Device/Firmware Manager"

    Install and open the new Philips/Magnavox Device Manager that you have just downloaded

    Click on the "Update" button (will only appear if your player is connected to PC)

    Update the firmware



    The Philips and Magnavox players have a weird characteristic - in order to get a firmware update, you can't use the version of the Device Manager that came with the CD - you have to update the device manager first.



    If you had simply said the part about "your device can perform..." blah blah blah - I would've thought that you plugged it into a USB port that was weaker than a USB 2.0 port (this is especially common with laptops). But, since you mentioned firmware, I would go ahead and update the firmware.

Have you checked for firmware updates? You can try to do a hard reset which can force OS errors to clear up.

First method:
  1. In order to switch off the device, hold down the Power button for a short while.
  2. In the next step press and hold Volume Up + Power key at the same time for a few seconds.
  3. You can release held keys when you see menu on your screen.
  4. Then press Volume Down to select option "Factory Reset", and press Power button to confirm.
  5. Success! The hard reset has just been performed.
Second method:
  1. Turn on the device by using the Power button.
  2. Afterwards go to Settings and then to Backup & Reset.
  3. Tap Factory Data Reset and select Reset Device.
  4. If it's necessary enter the safety code and choose Erase Everything
  5. Select OK to confirm the whole operation.
  6. Well done! After a while your tablet should be ready to use.
Third method:
  1. At the beginning press the Power key to turn off your device.
  2. Afterwards press and hold Volume Up + Power simultaneously for about 5 seconds.

Soft Reset

To force the device to restart without wiping any data, simply press and hold the Power button for about 10 to 20 seconds until the device turns off. You should then be allowed to turn the device back on as normal.

Hard Reset Using Buttons

Note: A hard reset deletes data. Before performing these steps, be sure to backup your data if you wish. Some data can be backed up under Settings > Privacy > Back up my data and data that syncs with Google should re-sync once you have performed the reset as long as you use the same account.
1. With the Galaxy Note powered off, press and hold the Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons.
2. When you see the Samsung logo appear, release the Power button, but continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down.
3. Release all buttons when the System Recovery screen appears.
3. Toggle the selection to highlight wipe data / factory reset using the Volume Down button.
4. Press the Power button to choose the selection.

Get the code pulled. I would say it is somehting else unless you the ecm that was rebuilt was no done well. try not to be down. try to think it will be somehting else. get the code and check back.

My Galaxy S will not turn on after the power button was accidently held too long by someone. What can I do?


Alright what you need to do is hold the power button and the Up or Down VOLUME button If it doesnt turn on try taking out the battery If that doesnt work try charger it If that doesnt work try replacing the battery or last option take it to a repair shop and see what they can do.

On turning my 6200 on the gps location is showing i am in york which is 107 miles from were i actually am ?? why is this and can i fix it


Try this resetting procedure:

1) Switch the unit OFF with that switch on the button (the one that needs the pen).
2) Now hold the power button on the top with your finger, and switch that switch on the bottom back to ON while keeping your finger held down on that button.
3) Something roughly called the Aragorn Boot Loader will appear and will count down from 5.
4) Release your finger off the power button on the top before it reaches 0 or you will have to start again.

This should have performed a hard reset, and you should be asked to calibrate the touchscreen.

Hi my htc touch diamond restarts randomly few times a day. can anyone help


try updating your software to 1.93 rom, i was having the same issues when i was on 1.37 and my partner was on 1.35 updated and not had the issue since!

Performing a soft reset

Perform a soft (normal) reset to clear all active program memory and shut down all active programs. This is useful when your device is running slower than normal, or a program is not performing properly. If a soft reset is performed when programs are running, unsaved work is lost.

My rcam4204-a will not turn on /i have held the on button down for at least a minute or two with no response/when i plug into comp/it says please connect your device /even thou it is connected


You might want to try doing a firmware reinstall.

OK to begin your computer doesnt have 2.0 usb, its just windows is telling you about the device attached, I am not sure about upgrading it, but I doubt it is possible. Now from the error you posted, your computer did detect something. Are all the neccesarry drivers installed? If so I would take a look at your bios and set your PCI/Perriphrial to auto, sometimes that will resolve any port assignments which are somewhat commen in laptops, being as they use a hub

The easiest solutions are easily overlooked. 1. Check your charger; a cheap multimeter will do for the voltage check. If the voltage (dc) written on the back of the charger is what you get at the plug, go to (2),if not, change your charger,problem solved. 2.You either have a messed up screen or battery. 3. Check the voltage at your battery terminals after charging the battery for like 1hr. If you do not get a resonable read; 2-5v ,just trash the battery and head for the nearest shop to get a fresh one.In case your battery reads okay,your screen or worse, one of the components on the board of the set has gone kaput.
