Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a 1995 26'' 2 stage 9hp Yardman track type electric start snow thrower. The fan or I guess it would be the second stage and at full throttle does not appear to be turning very fast and throwing even light snow very far. I just changed the two belts that drive the fan and auger with no apparent increase in speed. Any help in this manner would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Jay

The impeller is held on the shaft with roll pins, perhaps they have sheared off. try to turn the impeller by hand (with engine off) if it turns and nothing else does, look for some cross holes there should be 1 or 2. A good hardware store will have replacements. Use a punch with a blunt end to knock out the pieces that are left, and take them for sizing the replacements. Good luck CB

Check this page,
Two stage snow blowers all tend to have sheer pins
I would suspect that the holes seen in the picture are for the sheer pin, check with club cadet, figure same as auger pins, if so feel for the hole with your finger then inser a short nail till you feel a rough spot then tap with a hammer till it comes out, otherwise you have to take the mess apart completely.

Most likely cause is a failed ignition coil (reason that there is no electricity going to coil is that the coil generates electricity from magnets in rotor). Fairly simple to replace.

Yes there are 2 belts one for the drive and one for the auger. If you remove the cover on top that is located between the engine and the auger housing you can check the belts. The auger belt has come off the pulley or is broken. Hope this helps you out. Best regards and good luck.

YARD MACHINES 5.5. electric start 21-INCH SINGLE STAGE SNOW THROWER. Throttle wire is stuck, therefore now the blades will not move. How do I fix it?

prolly have to replace it, but you can try spraying P.B. lubricant on either end where the cable enters the jacket and working the cable back and forth untill it frees up; this has worked in the past for me on all sorts of jacketed cables, BE PATIENT AND ALLOW THE LUBE TO DO IT'S JOB, if you try to force it you could end up causing more damage to other components
