Year, make, model, engine size?

How does it run?

Do you see a lot of black smoke out the tailpipe when you accelerate?

do you see anything leaking?

SOURCE: Burning over a quart of oil every two weeks

you more than likely have some bad rings.

Go to autozone and buy a bottle of Lucas oil treatment, and add it to the oil, if this does not solve the problem you will need an engine rebuild.

I have a 02 trail blazer and it's going threw oile fast but I do not see any smoke what could be wrong with it.

Only two places it can go external oil leaks, or burnt with combustion , first check the condition of the spark plugs if dry the rings should ok , Do a dry and wet compression test to be sure . the oil and filter should be changed at or before 5000 miles, any longer and the oil will start to burn off, check the drivers manual for the right grade, put a few sheets of news paper under the engine and run it for several minutes to check for leaks, just a few drops can cause a loss of oil over time , more so as it gets hot.

Missfire after filling oil

if you poured the oil in to fast oil might have passed threw the pcv system and flooded out a cylinder with oil or its a engine with the spark plugs in the center of the valve cover and the seals in the center leak oil and when the oil was added it drained oil into the spark plug wells and shorted out the spark plug

I have a 2002 dodge caravan goes threw 2 quarts of oil a week. Its burning some no big leaks. The oil light comes on after traveling for a while and stop at red light.

If its burning the oil that means that the oil rings on the pistons are bad and the only thing to do is to rebuild or replace the engine it is usually less money to replace the engine with a good used engine.Sorry

Mot failure emmisions

Internal oil leak, change the spark plugs and cables, oil, filter and add Lucas oil. Take the car for inspection and let me know how it goes. For the belt depends where you get the parts and who does the work.

Oil consuption

Try to determine how much is leaking by putting a plastic pan under car overnight..
Typical leak sources are pan gasket, oil plug, oil pressure sender.

If burning oil, it will be obvious at startup and/or from the rear while driving especially during hard acceleration. Have some drive behind you to observe. They'll see obvious bluish smoke.

If burning is most responsible, and not much is leaking, you may have worn valves or piston rings.
Both fairly expensive to repair. As a temporary cheap solution, add oil additive (such as STP or Rislone) to reduce burning (it may slow the leak a bit too).
