Sounds like a driver issue. What color is the monitor or is there anything being displayed on it once the computer is turned on?

Hi there!

Try reseating the video card and check the memory module and if there is a power coming from your PC.

No picther on it

If you can't get any display, I must assume you have it plugged in and turned on. Then, if you have a yellow light (the light indicating power is yellow instead of green or blue) it means you are not getting any signal from your computer.
First check to see if another monitor works. If it does, then the problem lies with the monitor.
If you can't get any monitor to work, you have a computer video problem. Perhaps the computer is not actually booting at all.

AS SOON AS YOU TURN ON THE MONITOR IT SHOWS NO SIGNAL ON THE SCREEN. SO THERE IS SOME POWER TO THE SCREEN OR YOU WOULD GET NO SIGN OF LIFE AT ALL AND THEN IT SHUTS THE SCREEN OFF YET THE POWER LIGHT SHOWS...

Hi! If this is the case, the problem will surely be on the monitor cable going to the pc. If the cable is loose or faulty it will give you a no signal message. YOu will need to secure the cable of the monitor for it to work. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

The monitor will not turn on. When power button

First--was it working?
Did it suddenly stop?
When you see the LG logo, then it goes away, does the power light turn from green to amber? Sounds like that doesn't happen.
So--if you are getting a signal, you should see something.
If there is no signal, then the power light should change from green to orange.
With no lights at all, I suspect a faulty monitor.

Computer monitor flashes on then turns off

Try the monitor with another computer. If it works, the video circuitry (whether it is on-board or a separate adapter) in the Gateway is the problem and needs to be replaced. Otherwise, the problem is with the monitor itself. From your description it is probably the Gateway's video that is the problem since the power light on the monitor remains green indicating that it is seeng a signal, but not something it can properly interpret, i.e., one or more of the control signals are shot.

Make sure you don't have two video cards on your machine and have plugged into the wrong one.
Failing that, open the case and make sure the card is plugged firmly in its slot (do this with the power off).

Powering up problems.

Try using another monitor that you know works. Then try another video card. The fans are running because the computer is running ---but the monitor is not. Green to Amber means monitor is not on.
A lot can go wrong with loose wires that shouldn't be loose.
But I would try this first.
