Chainsaw will start but will not keep running. Saw is new Poulan chainsaw model 3314

Is this unit under warranty? If so, take advantage. If it is out of warranty, did it work well up to this point? The carburetor is not pumping fuel, but running for a short time on the prime. Remove the carburetor and check the body screws for tightness. Make sure the pumper port to the crankcase is open. If it is a Walbro brand carburetor, remove the lower cover (4-screws) and make sure the diaphragm is next to the body with the pin side in, then the thick gasket, and finally the cover. Hope this helps.

Needle nose pliers. You would normally use a new lip when reinstalling it.
